David M. Nally was named manager of Longview Fibre's corrugated and solid-fiber container plant in Longview. Nally was previously manager of the company's facility in Milwaukee. He replaces Robert D. Daily who is retiring after 35 years. Daily was named the Longview plant manager in 1997.
The Washington Wheat Foundation received a $15,000 grant from the American Express Financial Corp. for a promotional CD-Rom project that will be distributed in Washington state. The project was developed by a committee headed by Randy Suess of the Washington Association of Wheat Growers.
Kelly Tweeddale is the new administrative director for the Seattle Opera. Tweeddale joined Seattle Opera in 2000 as its director of marketing and communications. She succeeds Kathy A. Magiera who passed away in December.
Washington State University has been awarded a $495,000 grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust to purchase a high performance mass spectrometer. The new instrument will be located in WSU’s new Biological Mass Spectrometry Center and will expand research and teaching in biotechnology, and molecular and plant biology. The center is run by James Bruce, a professor of chemistry who was previously with Merck Laboratories in Pennsylvania. WSU will provide additional funding to cover the remainder of the cost of the spectrometer, which costs $800,000.
Graham & Dunn named Craig L. Jones a shareholder and Janis G. White of counsel. Jones joins the firm's real estate industry team. White will serve as a commercial litigator in the financial services industry team.
Washington Wine & Beverage appointed Tom Samuelson director of sales and marketing. Samuelson most recently served as Northwest area sales manager for Robert Mondavi Corp. Based in Woodinville, Washington Wine & Beverage produces and distributes Silver Lake wine and Spire Mountain draft cider.

K/P Corp. named Rick Hess and Eric Snip as sales representatives and Michelle Gil program manager in its Seattle office. Hess, previously a freelance designer in Seattle, will be responsible for division sales for K/P's Web-based print procurement tool. Snip, a former consultant for Alliente and previously with K/P's San Jose facility, will be responsible for sales of strategic direct mail programs. Gil was most recently in print sales with GAC and previously worked for K/P for 15 years in print, mail and fulfillment sales.
Crossroads Sign & Graphic, a full service signage manufacturing and facilitation center, will host its grand opening celebration with the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce on Jan. 22. The new business is located in Bothell at 22833 Bothell-Everett Hwy. The celebration is scheduled for 2 to 7 p.m.
San Francisco-based Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe named Michael J. Gamsky and Todd G. Glass as shareholders in its Seattle office. Gamsky joined the firm in 2001 and is a member of the financial services and corporate securities, M&A national practice groups. Glass has been with the firm since 1996 and is a member of its energy national practice group. Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe has 12 offices nationwide including Seattle, Portland and Anchorage.
