Echo Falls Country Club in Bellevue appointed Josh Heersink course superintendent and named Philip Strand executive chef. Heersink was superintendent for Presidio Golf Course in San Francisco and assistant superintendent for Kayak Point Golf Course in Stanwood. Strand was previously sous chef for the Doubletree Hotel in Bellevue, and served as executive chef and director of food and beverage for Best Western Southcenter. At the Golf Club at Newcastle, Rod Lapasin was appointed director of catering. He was vice president of food service at Impact Sales and director of catering at the former Four Seasons Olympic Hotel Seattle. Oki Golf operates Echo Falls Country Club, The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie, Indian Summer Golf & Country Club, The Golf Club at Newcastle and The Plateau Club.
Lawrence Canary has been appointed assistant fire marshal at the King County Fire Marshal's Office. Canary most recently served as a fire investigator for the office. The Fire Marshal's Office is part of the Department of Development and Environmental Services.
Barbara Ivanov was named by the Washington State Department of Transportation as director of its Office of Freight Strategy and Policy. Ivanov, executive director of the Kent Chamber of Commerce, will assume her new position in October. The Office of Freight Strategy was formed in 2001 to lead efforts concerning statewide movement of freight.
Robert H. Harvey, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union, was named Credit Union Professional of the Year by the Washington Credit Union League. Harvey has led the Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union since 1992 and is currently a reserve police officer with the Seattle Police Department.
C. James Judson has joined Sonata Capital Group as managing director. Judson is a senior partner at Davis Wright Tremaine in Seattle and a member of Eagle River Investments, a Kirkland-based venture capital fund. Seattle-based Sonata Capital Group specializes in private client wealth management.

Lakewood's John Korsmo Construction has hired Jarrod A. Fenberg as a project manager. Fenberg brings over a decade of experience to the firm. He holds a bachelor's degree in building construction from the University of Washington.
The Utility Contractors Association of Washington has selected Esperanza International as its charity partner for its annual auction, which is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the SeaTac Marriott Hotel.
