Public Disclosure Commission

Earl Tilly was elected chair of the Public Disclosure Commission, a five-member citizen commission created to ensure that the provisions of Washington's public disclosure law are fully met. Tilly, a former Washington state representative, will succeed Susan Brady, whose term ends Dec. 31. Francis Martin was elected commission secretary and Lois Clement remains vice chair.

Oki Golf

Echo Falls Country Club, an Oki Golf Club located in Snohomish, named Chris Ritchie general manager. Ritchie is the former general manager of Whittier Narrows Golf Course in Los Angeles. Oki Golf, based in Bellevue, owns and operates five golf properties.

United Way of King County

United Way of King County's Children's Initiative, which focuses on preparing children for success when they begin school, merged with Project Lift-Off, which works to strengthen King County youth by creating a system of early child care, education and extracurricular activities. The newly merged initiative is called SOAR - Helping Kids Reach for the Sky.

Dilettante Mocha Cafe

Dilettante Chocolate Co. opened Dilettante Mocha Cafe in downtown Seattle at 1400 Sixth Ave. Dilettante is based in Seattle.

Sweeney Conrad

Sweeney Conrad, a Bellevue-based certified public accounting firm, hired Craig Looper as an audit senior.

Central Washington University

Central Washington University named Ralph K. Phillips senior director of development. Phillips is the former director of development at Lowell Whiteman School and was director of alumni affairs and associate director of development at the University of Utah for five years. CWU is located in Ellensburg.

Tamara Wilson Public Relations

Tamara Wilson PR, a Seattle-based firm, will move to the Tower Building in Seattle at 1908 Seventh Ave., Suite 1403, on Dec. 29. The firm promoted Heather Jensvold to account executive and hired Kathleen Kelly and Kendall Bingham as account executives and Carrie Coffee as an account specialist.

Minarik Automation and Control

Minarik Automation and Control, a Glendale, Calif.-based high tech distributor, specializing in motion control products, hired Scott Martin as an outside sales engineer and technical support person in the Seattle/Redmond area. Martin has 15 years of experience in automation.

Washington State University

Peter Jennings will visit Washington State University's Pullman campus April 14, 2004, to accept the Edward R. Murrow Award for Lifetime Achievement in Broadcasting. Jennings will accept the award at 7:30 p.m. at the Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum. The event is free and will be open to the public.

Horizon Bank

Horizon Bank, a Bellingham-based commercial bank, named Beth Sherry vice president, quality service, and Jane Van Voorst vice president, retail banking. Sherry, who has been with Horizon since 1996, will be the bank's project administrator. Van Voorst will oversee retail banking through branch operations.

Tourism Whistler

Tourism Whistler, a Whistler, British Columbia-based marketing and sales organization, named Barrett Fisher president. Fisher, who has been interim president for six months, has been with the organization for 14 years in a variety of marketing positions.
