Bradley R. Duncan joined Davis Wright Tremaine as a partner in the law firm's Seattle office. Duncan has more than 15 years of bankruptcy and related litigation experience, and will work in the bankruptcy and creditor's rights practice group. He was with law firms in Washington, D.C.
Lisa Marinkovich has joined Aeromedia Network to lead marketing efforts as director of sales. Marinkovich has 18 years of marketing and sales experience, including work at Clear Channel Communications and Ackerley Communications. Aeromedia is a Seattle-based in-flight advertising company.
Mike Bailey was appointed as the city of Renton's new finance and information services administrator, subject to confirmation by the Renton City Council. He would plan and coordinate the city's budget, data processing and telecommunications. Baily was finance director for the city of Lynnwood.

Occupancy rates and average daily rates at Northwest hotels and motels are increasing, according to Stephen Comstock, a hospitality specialist with Prudential Northwest Associates in Federal Way. The latest numbers rival those recorded before 9/11. This has brought buyers back to the table, says Comstock, with more 1031 tax-deferred transactions occurring as owners seek to invest in better properties.
Lion, a Seattle-based online mortgage service provider, has hired Kristi Angell to run Mortgage 101. Sern Clementson has been promoted to president of Tuttle Risk Management Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lion. He replaces Anthony Berris, who left Tuttle to pursue personal interests. Tuttle provides mortgage pipeline risk management services and tools for financial institutions. Clementson will also head the company's capital markets business segment, which includes Lion's proprietary risk management software, Pipeline Tools. Angell most recently directed and operated ServiceMagic's mortgage unit, now a division of LendingTree. She will develop strategies to increase online traffic to Mortgage 101.
The John L. Scott Foundation presented a check for $25,000 to Seattle Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center during KOMO 4 TV's "Miracle Makers Telethon." In addition, the company helped raise more than $132,000 toward the total of $6.4 million by matching callers' pledges.

For the first time, the Urban Land Institute is bringing portions of its workshop series to Seattle next month. The programs are designed to provide real estate professionals with the latest best practices. Pasadena, Calif.-based company Fannie Mae named Joseph A. Grimes, III vice president of risk and underwriting for the company's Western Business Center. Grimes will oversee credit-risk and transaction management. He has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, and was most recently at Aames Investment Corp.
Thomas E. O'Donovan will take command of the Portland District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. A change of command ceremony will be held today at 3 p.m. at Bonneville Lock and Dam. O'Donovan succeeds Richard Hobernicht, who is retiring after 26 years with the Army. The Portland District is responsible for the Corps' water resource activities in western Oregon and southwestern Washington, including fish and wildlife protection, hydropower production, navigation, flood damage reduction and recreation.
