G.A Michael & Co.

G.A Michael & Co., a certified public accounting and business consulting firm based in Seattle, hired Kevin Hannah as financial and management accounting specialist. Hannah will provide accounting support and financial reporting to clients in the western United States. Hannah owned GKH Financial Consulting in Poulsbo.

Family and Adult Service Center

Family and Adult Service Center in Seattle has hired Keri DeTore as development director. DeTore has worked in both the profit and nonprofit sectors, most recently as community relations manager for Barnes and Noble. The center offers services to homeless families and single adults.

Washington Technology Center

Governor Christine Gregoire appointed six new members to the Washington Technology Center board of directors. The center promotes technology and economic development. The new board members are: Michael Cockrill of Vantage Point Mobile, Paul Hutton of Thought Engineering, Johannes Koch, independent consultant, Janet Liang of Group Health Cooperative, Linden Rhodes of Seattle Ventures, and John Titus of Aero Controls.

Strategies 360

Seattle-based Strategies 360 announced Al Aldrich, an expert in energy and public policy issues, will be joining the senior business strategy team. The company's services include lobbying, communications, marketing and consulting on business and public policy issues.

Legal Aid for Washington Fund

Paula E. Boggs, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of

Starbucks will serve as the 2006-08 president of the Legal Aid for Washington Fund board of directors. LAW Fund has raised more than $7 million to help provide a legal safety net for those who have nowhere else to turn.

Harbor Properties has made two staff changes. Martha Barkman has been promoted to senior project manager and Steve Yoon was hired as associate project manager. Harbor Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer Denny Onslow said the firm will be elevating current team members and seeking new talent to build workforce housing. Current projects include the 66-unit Press Two Apartments on Capitol Hill, and the Helix and Ellipse Apartments in the University District. Barkman led project management on Harbor Steps in the 1990s. She has been a project manager at Harbor since 1988. Yoon will work on financial analysis of new opportunities and project management for ongoing projects. He was with the Wells Fargo Real Estate Group in Los Angeles.

NBS Real Estate Capital

Bellevue-based NBS Real Estate Capital hired David S. Tindall as vice president of acquisitions. He will share responsibility with Justin Dennett for investments in the western United States on behalf of Morrison Street Fund II, LP, an equity fund that is expected to include more than $50 million. NBS has invested in office, retail, industrial and apartment properties with a combined asset value of more than $160 million. Tindall was with ING Clarion, responsible for investing in Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington.

Colliers International

Joel Shabel has joined the Tacoma office of Colliers International as a sales associate. He has been in real estate sales for the last three years. Shabel will become the third member of the new Private Capital Investment Group, joining Kim Marvik and Dominic Accetturo, who specialize in Pierce County office and retail investments.

ek Real Estate Group

The ek Real Estate Group has added Julie Reese, a long-time agent in the Seattle area, as a dedicated listing agent. Reese was with Williams Marketing, managing sales for new condo complexes, and Windermere Real Estate's Magnolia office. The ek Real Estate Group focuses on greater Seattle residential real estate. The staff has expertise in architecture and interior design, as well as marketing conservation land through its Naturealty division.

Seminar for homebuyers, investors

CREW meeting looks at hotels

CREW Seattle has invited a group of Seattle area hotel specialists to look at the area's hotel market, including 2005 performance and a discussion of mixed-use condo/hotel projects. The event will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Washington Athletic Club, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Panelists are Andy Olsen of the Chambers Group, Andy Layton of Colliers International Hotels and Greg Duff of Columbia Hospitality.
