The CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Seattle November 2006 luncheon will be held at the Washington Athletic Club on Thursday, Nov. 9, with Jordan Schnitzer of Harsch Properties as the speaker. Harsch Properties is a Portland-based real estate investment company which owns and operates more than 100 properties in five western states. Harold J. Schnitzer founded the company over 50 years ago. His son, Jordan, joined the firm in the mid-1970s. Cost is $35 for members and $50 for non-members and walk-ins. The fall seminar of the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties will be Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Hotel Monaco starting at 7:30 a.m. with registration. The topic is retail. A two-day conference on “Government Takings” will be held Dec. 7 and 8 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle. The 15th annual conference on the Growth Management Act will take place Nov. 13 and 14 at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall in Seattle, looking at density, traffic concurrency, affordable housing and critical areas. Coldwell Banker Bain has hired eight new sales associates in the Seattle/Tacoma metropolitan area. Bellevue Central, Dana Dauenhauer; Kent, Kimberly Abundiz and Rachel Higgins; Capitol Hill, Kathryn Lewis; Duvall, Randal Garl; Issaquah, Linda Berman; Kirkland, Carlos Mendez; Lynnwood, Scott Anderson. Glen Leff has been promoted to assistant managing broker for the Redmond and Redmond Ridge offices. He will work on opening an office in Monroe office next summer.
Grubb & Ellis Co. has added Kelten Johnson as an associate on the retail team. He was an intern in the research department before being hired as an associate.
Rhapsody Partners, a regional development firm based in Kirkland, appointed Scott Shade as chief of design. Shade oversees conceptual architecture and site planning while managing the company's architects and engineers. He was with Carina Corp. in Las Vegas and Beazer Homes. Rhapsody Partners was formed in 2005 by former Carina CEO Mark Doppe to focus on mixed-use, commercial and residential development in the western United States.
Fana Group of Companies, a privately held investment company based in the Puget Sound area, named John Powers vice president of real estate. Mike Chase, currently vice president of finance, will focus on finance, administration and operations. Powers was senior real estate manager at Boeing Realty and manager of development services at Sound Ventures. Fana is involved in real estate development and management in the U.S., Canada and the Carribean. Zones CEO Firoz Lalji is chairman/president. Recent projects include a hotel/condo site at Eighth and Pine, Federal Way Crossings, Estancia condos in Bothell, and a 300-unit condo in Everett.
Aeromedia Network has hired John Woodin as its president. The in-flight media company is based in Seattle. Woodin was with SkyBlue Productions.
MediQuest Therapeutics has hired Allison Formal as vice president for business development. Formal was with HaloSource in Redmond. MediQuest is a biotechnology company in Bothell specializing in infectious and inflammatory skin diseases.
Seattle law firm Riddell Williams has hired Joshua Piper as a first-year associate. He has a J.D. from the University of Washington.
