Seattle Arts & Lectures, a nonprofit literary organization, hired Linda Bowers as interim executive director. Bowers has 25 years of arts management and environmental policy making experience. She was interim managing director at Richard Hugo House.
The Port of Tacoma hired Tara Hazarian to the newly-created position of public affairs manager. Hazarian managed regional communications for EnviroIssues in Tacoma.
Lumera Corp., a nanotechnology company, announced the resignation of Thomas D. Mino, its chief executive officer. Mino will remain a consultant to the company. While the board searchers for a new CEO, Joseph J. Vallner, a current board member, will serve as president and interim chief executive officer.
NC Machinery announced a number of new appointments. Bob McCarthy was appointed sales representative for the Chehalis branch. McCarthy will cover accounts in Lewis, Grays Harbor, Mason, and Pacific counties. He has 20 years of sales and management experience, including commercial finance and consumer lending. John W. Harnish has been appointed product supportsSales representative, serving customers in south-Snohomish and north-King counties. When N C’s Monroe store opens in 2008, Harnish will be based out of the new facility. Matthew Benford and Mark Hastings were appointed sales representatives at the Fife branch. NC The Cat Rental Store appointed Mike Livers as a rental sales representative at the Mount Vernon branch. Livers will be responsible for rentals and sales of medium and compact Cat equipment and other brands in Skagit, Whatcom, Island and San Juan counties. Robert Sage has been appointed allied parts champion, helping customers with their non-Cat heavy equipment parts needs. Stephen Martinez was appointed rental sales representative for the Tukwila Rental Store. Scott Mangold has been appointed rental sales representative for the Fife branch, and will be responsible for rentals and sales of medium and compact Cat equipment and other preferred brands in Kitsap and Mason counties. Scott McDonnell was appointed rental coordinator for the Fairbanks branch.

Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services named Scott Morasch a senior investment associate. This is one of the highest levels of recognition the firm awards its sales agents. Morasch joined the firm in 2001 and specializes in multi-family investment sales.
Irvine, Calif.-based Help-U-Sell Real Estate, a provider of set-fee real estate services, is planning to expand into the Seattle area this year. Seattle-based Tarragon said it has secured two of the three anchor tenants for Sunrise Village shopping center in Puyallup. L.A. Fitness and unnamed big box retailer will take a third of the 550,000-square-foot center under construction at 157th Avenue East and South Meridian. The retailer intends to start construction in September and open the store in early summer of 2008, Taragon said. The project will center around an internal “street” of shops and a pedestrian plaza filled. The fitness club will have a four-lane lap pool, whirlpool, locker rooms and a gym. Freiheit & Ho Architects of Kirkland designed the center and Tarragon Construction LLC is general contractor. Investco Financial Corp. assembled the land and serves as representative for the owners.
Virginia Mason Winslow, a Virginia Mason care center on Bainbridge Island, hired Dr. David Feig and Elizabeth Chattin. Feig is a family practice doctor with experience in sports medicine. Chattin is a physician assistant working in the urgent care department.
Bellevue-based Resolute Solutions Corp., a business and technology consulting firm, hired Eric Blankenburg as chief technology officer. Blankenburg was vice president of applications and integration at Avanade.
