LeMaster Daniels, a Spokane-based CPA firm, has purchased Bellevue-based Abramson Pendergast & Co., which LeMaster says makes it the second largest CPA firm based in Washington. LeMaster Daniels plans to expand in the Puget Sound area. John Fisher, a LeMaster Daniels owner, is chief operating officer in Bellevue. Rob Abramson will lead the business generation effort. Abramson Pendergast has 40 employees and six shareholders. LeMaster Daniels has 13 offices in Washington and Idaho.
Bothell-based Vertafore, a provider of software for the insurance industry, named Darryl Lemecha senior vice president and chief information officer. Lemecha served as CIO for ChoicePoint, a provider of decision-making technology and information.
Peter Brous, finance professor at the Albers School of Business and Economics, will be installed as the inaugural holder of the Dr. Khalil Dibee Endowed Chair in Finance at Seattle University. Established by a $3.5 million gift from Gary Brinson and his wife, Suzann, the chair honors a faculty member for teaching, scholarship and mentoring students. Brous will serve a four-year term and will work to advance his research, particularly his knowledge of international capital budgeting and real options.
Pinnell/Busch, a Pacific Northwest construction-consulting firm, added Julie Molson as a project coordinator in its construction defects team. Molson has more than 12 years of design and construction industry experience.

Lane Powell announced three attorneys in the Seattle office have been elected shareholders: Gregory R. Fox, William W. Lin and David L Young.
The Seattle office of Susman Godfrey, a litigation boutique law firm, hired Daniel Jeffrey Shih and Genevieve Vose as associates. Shih was a law clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Vose worked as law clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and in the U.S. District for the Western District of Washington.
The Seattle Theatre Group, a nonprofit arts organization that operates the Paramount and Moore theaters, made a series of new hires. Kate Becker is director of development, Adam Zacks is senior talent buyer, Timie Dolan is concerts marketing manager and Amanda Bedell is public relations manager.
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle reappointed Daniel R. Fauske of Anchorage and Jack T. Riggs of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to the board of directors. Fauske is chief executive officer and executive director of Alaska Housing Finance Corp. Riggs is an emergency medicine physician and partner in North Idaho Medical Care Centers. Both were appointed for a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2008.
