Law firm Keller Rohrback promoted Tana Lin and Amy Williams-Derry to partnership positions. Both are members of the Complex Litigation Group. Keller Rohrback has offices in Seattle and Phoenix.
Seattle-based Smead Capital Management hired Tony A. Scherrer as senior vice president and portfolio manager. Scherrer was vice president and senior portfolio manager at U.S. Trust and Harris Private Bank. Smead Capital Management manages portfolios for institutional investors and high net worth individuals.
Bellevue-based InfoSpace hired Bruce Allenbaugh to the new position of chief marketing officer and made a series of new promotions. Allenbaugh will lead direct-to-consumer marketing initiatives as InfoSpace transitions into a focused online search company to a provider of cell phone ring tones and mobile content. Promotions were made to follow the planned departures of Allen Hsieh, Bruce Easter, Brian McManus, Steve Elfman and John Foster. Those promoted are David Binder from vice president of finance to chief financial officer and treasurer; Alejandro C. Torres from senior corporate counsel to general counsel and secretary; Sunil Thomas from vice president, engineering to chief technology officer; and Eric Emans from controller to chief accounting officer.
Seattle-based Ummelina International Day Spa has expanded to the Yakima Valley with the Ummelina Yakima Valley Spa Retreat. Nina Ummel, founder and president, chose the location. The new spa was the vision of business partner Meghann Lawrence.
Wallace Properties has added assistant property manager Cicely Tegeler to its property management team. She has been involved in commercial real estate for six years and was with Trammell Crow Co. where she specialized in medical, high rise and office properties. Tegeler also has experience in project and construction management. Connie Shyne has also joined the property management team, with more than 19 years of experience. She was with Egis Real Estate Services and Trammell Crow, and has managed industrial, office and mixed-use properties.
On Thursday, Jan. 17, from 6:30-9 p.m. Northwest Real Estate will present “Guerrilla Marketing for Real Estate Agents.” Real estate agent and investor Jason Sant will talk about how to be profitable in today's real estate market. Topics include creative financing techniques and partnerships. Cost is $29. The event will be at the Doubletree Hotel-Seattle Airport, 18740 International Blvd., Seattle. The monthly program of REAPS (Real Estate Association of Puget Sound) will be on the topic of “Rehabbing Homes: From Junkers to Millions.” The speaker is Robyn Thompson. Thompson has bought and sold more than 250 homes. The event will be Thursday, Jan. 24, 7 to 10 p.m. in Kane Hall, on the University of Washington campus. Reservations are recommended and can be done at http://www.reapsweb.com. The cost is $15 and it is free to REAPS members. A Saturday seminar on the topic will be held at Lake Washington Technical College in Kirkland on Saturday, Jan. 26. Register online at http://www.reapsweb.com. Callison promoted nine employees to director: Kipepeo Brown, Teresa Burrelsman, Darryl Custer, Tica Gordon, Michael Medina, Matthias Olt, Zivko Penzar, Michael Riggs and Barry Vaudrin.
SRG Partnership promoted Barney Mansavage to senior associate. Mansavage has more than 11 years of experience and has been with the Seattle office since it opened in 2003. He worked on Bellevue City Hall, the Museum of Flight and, before joining SRG, the Seattle Justice Center. Mansavage's most recent projects are at Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen, South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, Everett Community College in Everett, and a long-range plan for Southern Utah University.
NAC|Architecture promoted Brent Compton and Randy Wilson to senior associates. Compton is project manager for Lakes High School in Lakewood and Oak Harbor High School in Oak Harbor. Wilson's major projects include the Washington State University Library Service Center and West Valley High School in Spokane. The firm also promoted five employees to associate: Michael Cole, Heidi Deaver, John Eckert, Stan Hargus and Rob Kuffel. Deaver is project manager on three elementary schools for Lake Stevens School District. Eckert is working on multiple projects for Holy Family Hospital in Spokane and Kootenai Medical Center. Cole is involved in projects for Mead School District and Spokane Public Schools. Hargus has more than 30 years of experience on a variety of public and private projects. Hargus is project manager for Snohomish High School, a multiphase, occupied GC/CM project in Snohomish. Kuffel is project architect for the Moses Lake Elementary School, and doing pre-design for projects at Eastern State Hospital.
Johnson Braund Design Group hired Carmen Sorensen as director of the interior design department. Sorensen has experience in casinos and hospitality projects, and will work to expand the interior design division.
IA Interior Architects hired Karen Dahlstrom as an associate and director of operations in the Seattle office. Dahlstrom joins IA from NBBJ, where she worked on commercial interiors since 1991. She has more than 20 years of professional experience and served as president of the Northern Pacific Chapter of IIDA from 2006 to 2007. Dahlstrom's responsibilities will include overseeing major projects for Amazon.com, Expedia.com and Lithia Motors.
Bob Bandarra recently joined HDR as the Seattle water marketing manager. Bandarra will be responsible for business development and client management in the water and wastewater programs. He has more than 32 years of experience working for public agencies. Prior to joining HDR, Bandarra was the general manager at Clark Regional Wastewater District.
Seattle-based Clothier & Head, a certified public accounting firm, made a series of promotions. Rick Braa, who leads the Hospitality Industry Services Group, is now shareholder. Roger A. Wilkins and Michael Hopkins are principals. Keith A. Tyacke is tax services manager.
The Inland Northwest Partners, an economic development organization, awarded several Palouse-area econonomic organizations its 2007 Hometown Awards. Moscow, Idaho, received the community award for its Fiber Project to create a citywide fiber optic netowrk. The Port of Whitman County received the partnership award for its work to improve the economic vitality and lives of its citizens. Tammy Lewis, Palouse economic development council managing director for Whitman County, won the Hometown Hero Award for her work over three years to improve the economic vitality of Whitman County.
Seattle-based Clipper Navigation, operators and owners of the Victoria Clipper vessels, Clipper Vacations and Destination Services Northwest, named Darrell E. Bryan, president and CEO. Bryan has been with the company since it began operation in 1986. He has been general manager and executive vice president. Clipper Navigation provides transportation for 350,000 passengers per year between Seattle, Victoria and the San Juan Islands.
