Riddell Williams hired Christopher Schenck, a patent litigator, to its Intellectual Property Litigation Group. Schenck worked at K&L Gates.
Seattle-based Jones Soda hired Joth Ricci as president and chief executive officer, effective May 1. Ricci, who has served as the company's chief operating officer since January 2008, succeeds Stephen Jones, who will continue as a member of the board of directors.
Golf Savings Bank has opened a new mortgage office in Bellevue at 11100 N.E. Eighth St., Suite 700. It is the sixth new office to open since late 2008. Other new locations include offices in Federal Way, Lacey, Mill Creek and Port Orchard. Golf now has over 30 mortgage offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.

Tom Hoban, co-founder and CEO of Coast Real Estate Services and Coast/Sperry Van Ness, recently earned the Green Broker designation by the Commercial Broker's Association. Green Brokers help clients bring green practices into sales or landlord/tenant relationships.
Steve Rodgers, former president and CEO of Prudential California Realty, Southern California, was named a partner and the new president of Windermere Exclusive Properties. Rodgers will work with Windermere Exclusive Properties owners to expand in San Diego. He plans to open offices in the Rancho Bernardo/Poway area, Del Mar and Orange County.
This year's NAIOP Real Estate Challenge will be held at March 24 and 25 at the Daily Grill in the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Seattle. Competitors will come from the University of British Columbia, Portland State University, University of Washington and Washington State University. Students will present their projects to the judges on March 24. Immediately following the judging, the NAIOP Developing Leaders and Real Estate Challenge committee will host a reception for the competitors. Student teams will make presentations at the NAIOP breakfast meeting on March 25 at the Sheraton, from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Members are encouraged to attend and meet the students. CBA and the Cascadia Region Green Building Council have launched an online Certified Green Broker education program for people in the commercial real estate industry. The objective is to train brokers to counsel clients on sustainability issues. Topics include green building basics, green leases, valuation and land use laws. Cost is $750 per course through May. Seattle King County Association of Realtors is offering a class on green products and materials tomorrow at its offices, 12410 S.E. 32nd St., Suite 100, in Bellevue. The 3-clock-hour class costs $45 for members and $70 for non-members. It runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The instructor is Brenda Nunes. In Vancouver, it hired Jeffrey Miller. In Portland, it hired Alicia Bell, Katie Haraguchi, Kathryn Litchman, Morgan Smith and Joelle Tavan.
A new video marketing company called 4th Avenue Media has launched in Bellevue. The company was started by Lucas Mack, a former TV news reporter for KOMO, and by Robin Ernst, a former sales executive. The company specializes in videos for the Web and in consultation videos for cosmetic surgery, medical marketing, consulting, public relations and media buying.
