Waters Winery of Walla Walls founder Jason Huntley and winemaker Jamie Brown will partner with The Sorting Table, a national sales and marketing firm, to help build its brands throughout the country. The Sorting Table represents a number of wine brands and is based in Napa, Calif. Huntley, a fifth generation Walla Wallan, founded Waters Winery in 2005.
Seattle-based global supercomputer company Cray hired Michael Piraino as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Piraino has 15 years of general counsel, executive, management and legal experience, as well a background in engineering.
Heavy Restaurant Group has opened Purple Cafe & Wine Bar in Bellevue. The restaurant is in Bellevue Towers. Dawn Smith is wine director and Mike Davis is executive chef.

Nikolajs Pastuhovs of Auburn, an apprentice with Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers' Local 1 Washington, earned the distinction of top apprentice in the recent Marble competition held near Washington, D.C. The Marble competition is part of the BAC/IMI International Apprentice Contest. BAC apprentices must complete a multi-year training program conducted by their local union and the International Masonry Institute before they become journey-level craftworkers.
About 30 volunteers from Seattle-based BNBuilders helped renovate two low-income homes last weekend in South Seattle. BNB workers and their families teamed with the African American Elders Program to fix homes of elderly African-Americans. The volunteers replaced dilapidated furnaces, water heaters and dishwashers in an effort to reduce the homeowners' energy bills. BNB was joined by several of its subcontractors, including Holaday-Parks, Prime Electric, Auburn Mechanical, Renu/Nuprecon and WPI.
KHS&S Contractors-West Coast, an employee-owned company since 2006, is celebrating national Employee Ownership Month throughout October with events to benefit community charities. In the Seattle office, employees will conduct a food and coat drive to benefit Seattle's St. Francis House. Anaheim, Calif.-based KHS&S has five offices throughout California, Nevada and Washington.
Fortune Bank has hired George Brace to oversee expansion on the Eastside. Brace was a founding executive of Pacific Northwest Bank in Bellevue in 1988 and continued to work with Wells Fargo after it purchased the organization. It also added Janine Florence to its board of directors. Florence was a director of First Mutual Bank in Bellevue for 23 years. Fortune Bank was founded in 2006.
Bellevue-based Coinstar said John Harvey, chief financial officer, has submitted his resignation effective Nov. 9. The company is searching for a replacement and executing its transition plan. Coinstar is a provider of automated retail solutions such as self-service coin counting and self-service DVD rental.
Rep. Zack Hudgins, D-Tukwila, and six other young political and policy leaders from around the U.S., have been chosen to participate in a 10-day political exchange in India hosted by the American Council of Young Political Leaders. Participants leave Oct. 30. They will study India's political system, talk about international issues and make professional relationships.
