ShoreBank Pacific

Ilwaco-based ShoreBank Pacific is now certified as a Community Development Financial Institution by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's CDFI Fund. The certification is based on a history of community development in low income and underserved communities. To qualify, an institution must direct 60 percent of its activities toward CDFI-eligible target markets. ShoreBank is the only bank chartered in Washington with the certification. Now it can apply for grants to fund loans and development services in underserved Oregon and Washington communities. This will increase the bank's lending to renewable energy, green building, fishing, specialty foods and agriculture industries.

Joseph's Grainery

Joseph's Grainery of Colfax hired Kelli Collins to serve remotely as its director of Web sales and marketing. Collins' father, William Myers, founded Joseph's Grainery and named the company after Collins' son, Joseph. Joseph's Grainery sells whole grains direct from the family farm in Southeast Washington.

Onlineshoes.com

Seattle-based Onlineshoes.com hired Bob Barton as chief financial officer. Barton has 20 years of experience as an operations leader and has been CFO at Cranium and CFO and interim CEO at drugstore.com. Established in 1996, Onlineshoes.com is the nation's first online shoe retailer.

McCullough Hill

Best Lawyers, a legal publication, named John McCullough as the Seattle Best Lawyers Land Use & Zoning Lawyer of the Year for 2010. McCullough is with McCullough Hill. Fifteen land use and zoning lawyers in the U.S. were selected for the honor.

Gobo Enterprises

Gobo Enterprises, a Renton-based marketing and business consulting firm, hired Seth Handley as corporate chef-research and development manager, corporate brands and Adam Lile as national sales manager, corporate accounts. In 2009, Handley led the Gobo marketing team at national food shows and has worked with celebrity chefs. Lile will manage and expand Gobo's Costco and other national accounts.

710 ESPN Seattle

710 ESPN Seattle promoted Owen Murphy from assistant program director to program director. Murphy joined the station last January and has been a producer for MLB.com and ESPN Radio.

Maveron

Maveron, a Seattle-based venture capital firm, is expanding with a new office in San Francisco. Maveron Partner Amy Errett will lead the new office. Ben Choi has been hired as a principal and will also work in San Francisco.

Trails at Newcastle

Trails at Newcastle hired Brenda Nunes as community developer for the co-housing community. She has more than 16 years of community relations expertise on the Eastside, and is executive director of the Sustainability Foundation, a nonprofit promoting green development. Trails at Newcastle is a green cottage community with a community-focused site plan. The group said it is accepting members to help finalize plans so the project can start building in 2010. Jones Lang LaSalle

Jones Lang LaSalle said capital markets specialist Jim Footh has joined the Corporate Capital Markets team in Seattle as a senior vice president. Footh will partner with Managing Director Gary Danklefsen to bolster the firm's presence along the West Coast. Footh held senior positions at a national brokerage firm, including three years in the United Kingdom and France.

Free mortgage help Dec. 5

A free foreclosure prevention event will be held Dec. 5 at Cleveland High School sponsored by the Seattle Office of Housing and the Human Services Department. Homeowners who are worried about paying mortgages can meet one-on-one with mortgage counselors and learn about options. Legal services will also be available. The event includes workshops on the foreclosure process, avoiding foreclosure scams, repairing credit scores and budgeting. NAIOP South Sound holiday event

The NAIOP South Sound Committee has organized a holiday event Dec. 10 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pacific Grill, 1502 Pacific Ave. in Tacoma. Cost is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. NorthMarq Capital

Stuart Oswald of NorthMarq Capital's Seattle office arranged first mortgage financing of $7.5 million for the Harold Poll Building, a 57,640-square-foot office building at 110 Union St. in Seattle. Major tenants are T-Mobile and SRG Partnership. It was arranged for the borrower, Harold Poll Building, LLC, by NorthMarq through its relationship with Business Partners, LLC.

Cascade Commercial Properties

Cascade Commercial Properties said it sold a 39,211-square-foot retail pad in Pasco on Road 68 to SMBC Leasing and Financing LLC. Peter Johndrow and Danny Chang with Cascade Commercial Properties represented Embree Asset Group and Firestone on behalf of the buyer. Terry Moss with Commercial Realty Group represented the seller. This is the third site this year that has been purchased for a new Firestone Complete Auto Care Center.
