Cedarbrook Lodge in SeaTac hired Meredith Mara as director of sales. Mara will retain her position as Coastal Hotel Group's national director of sales, which she has held since June of 2008. Mara has 15 years of experience.
KeyBank's newest branch opened in Bellevue's Eastgate community at 3240 156th Ave. S.E., on the former site of a Shell service station. This is the bank's 163rd location in Washington. Grand opening will be held Aug. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Bellevue-based InfoSpace, a developer of metasearch products, said David Binder, who has served as chief financial officer since January of 2008, is resigning to become chief financial officer of Blue Nile, an online retailer of diamonds and jewelry. Eric Emans, current chief accounting officer, will serve as interim CFO until a permanent successor is selected.

Portland-based construction consultant Pinnell/Busch is opening an office in Seattle to serve its Washington clients. Michael Norman, senior project manager and construction claims analyst, has been hired to run it. Norman has 25 years of industry experience, serving as a project manager for Hoffman Construction in Seattle, a developer and a construction lawyer. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and master's degrees in construction management and environmental engineering from Stanford University. He also received a law degree from the Northwestern School of Law in Portland. The new office will offer estimating and scheduling, construction defect investigations, owner representative and other services.


Privately held construction company Kirtley-Cole Associates hired Charlie Poggemann as a senior project manager and Ryan Rantz as an estimator. Poggemann has 20 years of construction industry experience, the past 10 at Bird Construction and prior to that with S.D. Deacon. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from California Polytechnic State University. Rantz has eight years of construction industry experience and was previously with Corstone Contractors, Graham Contracting and Bird Construction. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington.
The Washington Association of Sewer and Water Districts recognized Pat Bara of the Lake Stevens Sewer District for “effective leadership from a non-executive.” Bara is executive assistant to the district manager at LSSD. She served as the association's Public Relations Committee chair from 2007 to 2010, a role normally reserved for management–level members. Bara will be recognized at the association's annual conference on Sept. 29 in Wenatchee.

The Benson Hotel in Portland, a member of Coast Hospitality, made several new hires. Serge Selbe is executive chef and director of culinary operations. Andrea Russell is director of catering. Jim Jones is restaurant manager of London Grill. Todd Moore is director of banquets.
Global Partnerships, a Seattle-based nonprofit investor, and Sustainable Harvest, a Portland-based specialty coffee importer, have collaborated on a new loan product. Loans go to two fair-trade cooperatives in Latin America: Aprocassi in Cajamarca, Peru, and Cafe y Desarrollo/Redcafes in Mexico. The loans are made by Global Partnerships and secured by coffee sales contracts from Sustainable Harvest to provide flexible financing to small-scale coffee growers.
Russell Investments hired Shellie Unger as director of plan sponsor sales for Russell Indexes. Unger has 30 years of financial services experience. She is based in the New York office. Unger previously spent 25 years at Vanguard.
