Unger

Minneapolis-based U.S. Bank hired Brian Vowinkel as regional managing director for Ascent Private Capital Management of U.S. Bank in Seattle. Vowinkel headed Ranger Select, his own wealth management firm.

Educational Theatre Association

Ohio-based Educational Theatre Association will induct Ruben Van Kempen, director of Seattle's Roosevelt High School theater, to its Hall of Fame for 2012 on Sept. 21 at Marriott Coronado Island. Van Kempen has been an educator for 40 years. Educational Theatre Association is a professional organization for theater educators.

Tacoma-based Columbia State Bank hired Gary Abramson as residential loan officer of Portland's Gateway branch. Abramson managed the mortgage department at Town Center Bank. Columbia State is a full-service commercial bank.

InterIm CDA

Seattle-based InterIm CDA announced Martha Choe, chief administration officer for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, as the 2012 Bob Santo leadership in sustainability award recipient.

InterIm CDA is a community building organization located in Seattle's International District for 43 years and works to improve the lives of Asian and Pacific Islanders by providing housing and community development programs.

Foster Pepper

Seattle law firm Foster Pepper hired Lauren King to its Seattle office. King practices commercial litigation and was an associate for Byrnes Keller Cromwell and K&L Gates. Foster Pepper is a commercial law firm.

CoStar Group

CoStar completed its previously announced acquisition of LoopNet. CoStar, a commercial real estate information and analysis company, plans to continue to operate LoopNet, an online commercial real estate marketplace, separately. The combined company will retain the name CoStar Group.

Coast|Sperry Van Ness

Tom Hoban, CEO of the Everett-headquartered Coast Group of Companies, which includes commercial brokerage Coast|Sperry Van Ness, was awarded the Humanitarian of the Year Award at the national Sperry Van Ness conference.

Real Estate Investment Services

Real Estate Investment Services, a commercial real estate company, hired Tamarra Howell as a property manager, and promoted Liz Girouard to sales and leasing retail broker. They work in the Kent office. Girouard previously worked at Colliers International and Schnitzer West, where she managed Civica Office Commons in Bellevue. Real Estate Investment Services has five offices in the region.

Washington Brokers, Keller Williams

Washington Brokers, a Seattle company that brokers the sale of businesses in Washington, California and Arizona, merged with Keller Williams in Seattle. Washington Brokers was formed in 2008, and has handled the most business sales in Washington, the company says. Washington Brokers Managing Broker Larry Braden said he wants to expand to all 50 states. Keller Williams Greater Seattle CEO Shari Jansen said the merger complements her company's residential and commercial divisions.

Aboda

Aboda, a Redmond-based provider of corporate housing, promoted Marci Abinanti to vice president. She was director of Client Services where she oversaw housing programs for Microsoft, Amazon.com, the Gates Foundation, Starbucks and other clients.

EMB Management

Bellevue-based EMB, which manages residential community associations, added two properties to its portfolio. They are the 103-unit Camden at Harbour Pointe in Mukilteo and the 16-unit Bayview Court in Blaine.

NAIOP's Shift Happens program

Bill Pollard of Talon Private Capital will moderate a 7:30 a.m., May 16 NAIOP broker panel about the shifting commercial real estate market. Oregon-based Umpqua Bank hired Jeff Miller as vice president and commercial relationship manager for its Seattle commercial banking center. Miller worked as vice president and senior relationship manager at Union Bank. Umpqua is a full-service bank with 25 locations in Washington.

Graybar

Missouri-based Graybar promoted Kirk Snure to vice president of the Seattle district. Snure currently works as director of electrical sales. Graybar is a Fortune 500 corporation specializing in supply chain management services and distributor of components, equipment and materials.

Holland America Line and Seabourn

Holland America Line and Seabourn promoted Keith Johnson to treasurer and director of financial reporting and enterprise risk management; Monica Desimone to senior director of financial systems and cash management; Jim McShane to senior director of cruise accounting; Paul del Rosario to senior director of budgets; Jason Ross to controller of budgets and planning and hired Derick Courson as deputy director of cash management.
