The Portland office of JE Dunn Construction added Jim Ray as vice president of pre-construction services. Ray has more than 20 years of commercial construction experience in the Northwest. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Oregon State University and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
University Mechanical Contractors expanded its ownership group by allowing five employees to buy into the company. The new owners are: Pat Damitio, vice president of operations; Bryan Eppler, director of strategic development; Kirk Baisch, safety director; David Malone, project executive; and Steve Brooks, special projects manager. They join President and CEO Jerry Bush and vice president and CFO Doug Smith as owners of the 93-year-old mechanical contractor based in Mukilteo.
Tacoma-based Milgard Windows & Doors launched several interactive tools on its website geared toward architects, builders and contractors. Included are detailed product specifications, BIM objects, CAD drawings and other technical information. Banner Bank promoted Diana Ortega to vice president. She will continue as a relationship manager serving clients and developing connections with area business leaders. Ortega is based out of the Everett-Colby Commercial Banking Center and has been with the bank for 13 years. She serves is one of Banner's two Small Business Administration liaisons for the greater Seattle, West Metro division.
Foster Pepper hired Barbara Jane League as of counsel in the public finance practice. League has more than 15 years of experience, including public finance and taxation, and more than nine years of experience in business and real estate law. Prior to joining Foster Pepper, she was an associate director at Navigant Capital Advisers in Washington, D.C., and also worked for the Office of Chief Counsel for the IRS in Washington, D.C.

Seattle law firm Lane Powell shareholder Stephanie Stephens has been selected to serve as a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity's class of Fellows for 2013. The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity is dedicated to creating a diverse legal profession with the goal to help its member organizations find, hire, retain, promote and engage the best talent.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll visited the Capitol and met with lawmakers, asking them for state funding to help expand a youth outreach program he heads. He visited both the House and Senate chambers on Wednesday, and also briefly met with Gov. Jay Inslee. Carroll started “A Better Seattle,” in September of 2011 in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Seattle and the Seattle Youth Violence Prevention Initiative. The program hires street outreach workers in Seattle and south King County in an effort to reduce gang and youth violence. It's modeled on a program Carroll started in Los Angeles while coaching at the University of Southern California.

Pioneer Human Services promoted Anthony Wright as chief operations officer. Wright joined Pioneer Human Services in 2011 as vice president. Pioneer Human Services provides a chance for change to people overcoming the challenges of chemical dependency, mental health issues or criminal histories.
CrossFit Kenmore has relocated to 7534 NE 175th Street just off of NE Bothell Way to accommodate significant membership growth. Former Navy Special Warfare Operator Chuck Crouch and wife BreAnne Crouch own and operate the facility.

Travis Stanaway has joined the South Seattle office of Kidder Mathews, where he will focus on sales and leasing of industrial properties. Kidder Mathews has more than 200 brokers in nine offices in Washington, Oregon and California.
Austin, Texas-based Keller Williams Realty says it now has the most real estate agents in the country. Keller Williams has approximately 80,000 brokers in 700 offices. It passed Coldwell Banker to become the largest brokerage. A strong 2012 helped fuel the company's growth. New agent hires last year increased 23 percent over 2011, and closed transactions were up 31 percent. Washington, Oregon and Idaho are among the top producing offices in the company.
Shorenstein Properties of San Francisco has completed the Building Owners and Managers Association's International 7-Point Challenge. The program is designed to help building owners reduce their environmental impact. Benchmarks in the 7-Point Challenge include: decreasing energy consumption by 30 percent; employing the Energy Star metrics to track energy performance and water usage; providing education to engineers, owners and operators; performing energy audits; and improving operations and building maintenance systems. At the challenge's conclusion, Shorenstein decreased energy usage 32 percent across the company's national office portfolio.
