Seattle-King County First Citizen

Theodor “Ted” Baseler, president and CEO of Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, has been named the 77th Seattle-King County First Citizen for his role in advancing the state's wine industry internationally, and for being an advocate for higher education and the needs of underserved students. The award is given by Seattle KingCounty Realtors. Baseler joined Ste. Michelle in 1984 as director of marketing and was named president and CEO in 2001. The state has more than 850 wineries and a wine industry valued at more than $10 billion.

The Pacific Institute

The Pacific Institute, a global consultancy based in Seattle, said co-founder Diane Tice has transfered ownership of the firm to a group from the institute's U.S. Operations team. The new owners include Joe and Sheri Atteridge, Mario Rappaccioli, Dr. Joe Pace, Mark Panciera and Rosie Baker. Founders Diane and Lou Tice began planning for the future of the institute several years ago. Lou Tice died in 2012.

Wells Fargo

A Wells Fargo bank will open March 23 in Interbay at 1827 15th Ave. W. Joel Lacuesta will lead the office, which is one of eight Puget Sound locations that have opened since summer 2013.

Legacy Group

Jeff Dornon has joined Legacy Group in Renton as vice president of sales. Legacy Group is a dealer for Kimball Office Select, an Indiana-based company that sells furnishings for workplaces, schools and health care. Dornon has worked in the contract furniture industry for 25 years.

Clearwater Paper

Clearwater Paper said Thomas A. Colgrove will retire as president of the consumer products division later this year. Patrick T. Burke, who is vice president of supply chain, will head the consumer products division.

Leica opens in Bel Square

Leica Camera will open an 800-square-foot store in Bellevue Square this weekend.

It will sell German cameras and gear, and have space for lectures and workshops.

Leica is offering tours and workshops this weekend.







Kidder Mathews buys San Diego firm

Kidder Mathews of Seattle has acquired StepStone Real Estate Services, a San Diego-based firm that manages more than 600,000 square feet of retail, office and mixed-use properties. StepStone founders Jack Naliboff, Kathy Giraldo Carlson and Mark Vallecorsa, and four other employees will join Kidder Mathews. Kidder Mathews expanded to Southern California in January when it opened a San Diego office. It has three offices in the San Francisco Bay area, one in Portland and five in Washington.

HomeStreet starts commercial lending

HomeStreet Bank has started HomeStreet Commercial Capital, a new lending service that will provide permanent financing for projects up to $10 million, including multifamily, industrial, retail, office, mobile home parks and self-storage facilities. The 14-person team is based in Orange County, California, and led by Bill Endresen. Endresen last worked at Impac Commercial Capital, and has more than 40 years of experience in commercial real estate.
