Kidder Mathews opened a new office in Reno and hired four of that region's top industrial brokers. The new hires are J. Michael Hoeck, senior vice president and managing partner; Michael Nevis, senior vice president; Dave Simonsen, senior vice president; and Steve Kucera, vice president. Kidder Mathews has more than 500 employees in 13 offices in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, and Nevada. Kidder Mathews opened offices in San Diego, Sacramento and Phoenix last year.
HNN Associates of Bellevue received a Proud Partner Award from Washington State Housing Finance Commission. HNN manages more than 4,000 affordable apartments in 25 properties throughout the state. Many were built with financing from WSHFC, which has financed approximately 106,000 affordable apartments statewide through housing tax credits and bonds. Many of HNN's properties are restricted to people making less than 60 percent of area median income.
HFF said it arranged the $26.5 million sale of Creeksides at Centerpoint, a three-building, 218,650-square-foot office complex in Kent. Unico Properties sold the complex at 20415 72nd Ave. S. to Menashe Properties of Portland. The complex is 90 percent leased to tenants including Iron Bow Technologies, Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, Washington State Department of Health, Naverus Inc. and Wells Fargo.
San Diego-based Pathfinder Partners closed its fifth real estate acquisition fund. The firm has spent almost half of the $87 million on seven properties in the Western U.S. that have closed and two more that are under contract. They include Cedardale Apartments, a 126-unit complex at 2501 S.W. 336th St. in Federal Way. Other properties are located in Portland, Las Vegas, San Diego and Phoenix. Pathfinder focuses on smaller properties that need work. It has bought or sold property worth about $1 billion since 2006.

Bullseye Creative, a Seattle graphic design and advertising agency specializing in web development, brand management and marketing, hired Meredith Miller as an executive assistant.
The national group Transportation For America selected Pierce County Councilmember Derek Young for the 2016 Transportation Leadership Academy, which focuses on teaching local leaders how to maximize transportation spending. Young will take part in workshops and online training.
The founding dean of The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, Lawrence Pintak, will step down at the end of the semester to begin a year of research and reporting about Islam and the U.S. presidential election. Pintak, a former CBS News correspondent who holds a Ph.D. in Islamic studies, plans to write a book about Islam and the election.

GGLO promoted Ted Panton to principal, Kim Aguilar Gregor to manager of library and archival services, and Chris Dana, George Valdez, Daniel Ash, Meaghan McDonald and David Marshall to associate. Panton is design director and has worked on mixed-use urban infill projects in western Washington. Aguilar Gregor oversees the reference and materials library, professional development and archives. Dana has 20 years of experience in corporate interiors, multifamily and higher education. Valdez has over 17 years of experience that includes multifamily, commercial, higher education, office and retail. Ash has experience in residential architecture, including skyscrapers. McDonald is trained as an architect and interior designer, and has worked on hospitality and housing. Marshall is a landscape architect who was hired in 2011.




BCRA named Don Mellott, Doug Oberst and Stuart Young as managing principals as part of a long-planned leadership transition for the firm, founded in 1989. BCRA also added four new shareholders: Paige Nilsen, director of marketing and business development; Gareth Roe, land use planning lead; Lori Robbin, interior design lead; and Ben Dort, civil engineering project manager. Rory Connally and Ken Rowan, who are among the founders, stepped down Jan. 1 They will collaborate with BCRA as leaders of a new independent sister company called BCRA Nexus, formed from the building science group of BCRA. Nexus provides building envelope design and commissioning, air barrier testing and forensic evaluation. Todd Wolf, BCRA shareholder and director of the building science group, joined Nexus as a shareholder. BCRA provides architecture, interior design, engineering, planning and landscape architecture, with offices in Seattle and Tacoma.

Seattle-based Berger Partnership promoted Brad McGuirt to associate. McGuirt joined the firm five years ago as a project manager. His projects include Pike Place Market Waterfront Entrance and Cross Kirkland Corridor's master plan. Berger Partnership provides landscape architectural and urban design services.

Spokane-based MW Consulting Engineers hired Tony Maiani as a construction manager/senior commissioning professional. He was with Maiani Construction Services and has over 20 years of experience in evaluating and optimizing building control systems, test and balance services, commissioning and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
In its Seattle office, IA Interior Architects appointed Kalman Axelrod and Annelle Stotz as senior associates and Stephen Blackstone, Katrina Cooper, Terry Huang, Michelle Kelly, Jason T. Mourray and Bhavik Rao as associates.

Betts, Patterson & Mines elected Lori Worthington Hurl to director. She joined as a summer associate in 2007, and focuses on complex litigation and insurance defense.

Immigration attorney Robert Neale is now a partner in Fisher & Phillips' Seattle office. He spent eight years as in-house counsel at Microsoft on the global migration team.
Clark Nuber PS, a CPA and consulting firm in Bellevue, hired Anthony Hargreaves as IT audit principal. He was with Ernst and Young.

The Seattle office of Skanska hired Angel Franklin as talent development director for the western region. Franklin and the HR team are supporting development of emerging executives and those with high potential in the early stages of their careers. She has 10 years of HR experience, and previously was global leader in talent management and development at Kellogg Co. She holds a bachelor's degree in human resource management from the University of Central Florida.

Eric Featherstone joined Express Construction Co. in Bellevue as business development manager. Featherstone previously was business development director at GB Systems, and served as executive director of NAIOP for 14 years prior to that. He also was partner and vice president at Melby, Cameron and Anderson, an association management firm.
Jolene Logue was named president of PacWest Machinery in Seattle. Logue for a number of years was branch manager, regional director and regional vice president at Ingersoll-Rand, and also had a stint as regional vice president at Volvo Construction Equipment. She holds a bachelor's degree from San Diego State University and an MBA from New York University. PacWest recently bought the operating assets of Clyde/West of Portland, and was appointed Volvo Construction Equipment dealer in Washington, Oregon and northern Idaho.
Modern Machinery is now representing Carlson Paving Products in Washington, Oregon and northern Idaho. Carlson is a Tacoma-based manufacturer of asphalt paving equipment and products. Modern is one of the largest Komatsu dealers in North America.
Tacoma-based Korsmo Construction wrapped up 2015 with zero OHSA recordable incidents while logging 150,00 labor hours. Korsmo says the milestone was accomplished through the addition of Jay Bohl as full-time site safety manager (visiting all jobsites on a weekly basis), as well as OSHA 30 training of all supervisors and an improved job hazard analysis program. Don Coovert is Korsmo's safety director.
