U.S. Bank is opening a new branch in Insignia Towers at Fifth and Bell in Belltown, across the street from Belltown Community Center. It will open March 21. The branch is designed so that employees can greet customers as they enter and will have spaces for in-depth conversations as well as a community room that nonprofits and businesses can use free of charge. Scott Scherschligt II will manage the branch, with a team of 17 people offering banking, mortgage, small business and wealth management services. U.S. Bank has 95 branches in the Seattle area.
The law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt has made David Boyajian, Sara Cotton, Bradley Maier, Michael Moore, William Ohle, Yvonne Tingleaf, Farron Curry and Vladimir Raskin shareholders. Curry and Raskin are in the Seattle office and the others are in Portland.

Kidder Mathews added multifamily investment broker Brian Richardson to the Bellevue team as a vice president. Richardson has worked in the industry since 2004, closing more than $650 million in multifamily transactions. He last worked at Insite Property Solutions in Bothell as an investment broker and asset manager, and completed more than $63 million in transactions and arranged more than $40 million in financing. Kidder Mathews has more than 550 employees in 13 offices in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona and Nevada.
Commercial Brokers Association has elected new officers and directors for 2016. Directors serve three-year terms: Jim Bowles, The Bowles Co.; Tiffini Connell, West Coast Commercial Realty; Tom Hoban, Coast Group of Cos.; and Jeff Johnson, Black Commercial. Officers serve one-year terms: Chairman Scott Blankenship, Wallace Properties; Vice Chair David Magee, Cushman Wakefield; Secretary/Treasurer Michael McQuaid, McQuaid Real Estate; and Past Chair Gordon Buchan, Kidder Mathews.
Renee Comey of Re/Max Elite received the company's Hall of Fame award for agents who have earned more than $1 million in commissions during their careers. Re/Max said about 23 percent of its brokers earn this honor. Comey is based in Everett on a team of four: her husband Scott Comey, buyer specialist Bonni Tuley and assistant Alexa Northcutt-White.
The Andover Co. earned the Power Broker designation from CoStar Group for a 13th year as one of the area's top leasing and sales firms. Andover's Brian Bruininks was named an individual Power Broker for industrial leasing, the fifth time he has earned the designation. Andover Co. is a division of Corfac International Group. It has 13 agents focused on leasing and selling industrial, office and investment properties.
Gary Guenther of Kidder Mathews will discuss the biggest deals in the local office market at Bellevue Chamber of Commerce's next business lunch at noon March 24 at Hyatt Regency Bellevue. Guenther will talk about new projects coming to Bellevue, and how they will alter the skyline and lead to more jobs. In Tacoma, AHBL promoted Scott Kaul and Lucas Johnson to project manager, and hired Kyle Gysler as a project engineer, Kate Maxey as an administrative assistant and Amanda Parent as a human resources generalist. Kaul is working on a manufacturing plant for Oldcastle Precast in Frederickson. Johnson is working on McCarver Elementary in Tacoma. Gysler is in the structural engineering department, and was an AHBL intern. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Washington. Maxey has seven years of experience, and was an office assistant at Pierce County Public Works. Parent has over six years of experience in human resources. AHBL provides civil and structural engineering, landscape architecture, community planning, and land surveying, with offices also in Seattle, Spokane and the Tri-Cities.





Aspect Consulting hired Adam Griffin as a senior remediation engineer in the Bainbridge Island office, Rachel Bobich as a geology/GIS technician and Eric Knoedler as a staff hydrogeologist in Seattle, and Jordan Sanford as a project assistant and Taylor Dayton as a staff water resources engineer in Wenatchee. Griffin has 10 years of remediation experience at commercial, industrial and mining sites. Bobich has environmental consulting experience, and works on geologic and GIS projects. Knoedler supports environmental remediation projects in Puget lowland regions. Sanford has worked in the biological and geological sciences with federal, state and private groups. Dayton holds a master's in civil and environmental engineering from Virginia Tech, and will work on water and stormwater projects.

In Portland, Farallon Consulting hired engineer and soil scientist David Weymann. He has 25 years of experience in project management, feasibility studies and remediation design, and technical support and expert services for environmental attorneys. Clients have included Corps of Engineers, Portland General Electric, industrial facilities and landfill operators.

Tacoma-based Bruce Dees & Associates hired Rachel Lingard as a landscape designer and project manager. She has experience on landscape architecture, water features, and landscape and irrigation estimating.



In Seattle, HBB Landscape Architecture promoted Aaron Luoma to principal, and Annie Youngerman and Merit Oviir to associate. Luoma's work includes parks, and waterfront and transportation projects. He is working on Sound Transit's East Link and chairs Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board. Youngerman works on waterfront, streetscape, park and urban design projects. Her portfolio includes master planning for Renton's Sunset Park. Oviir's professional training in Estonia emphasized ecology, environmental site design and historic preservation. She has worked on trails and open spaces, parks, streetscapes and transportation projects. Her work includes lower Kinnear Park in Seattle.

Paul Dye has joined Washington Sea Grant as assistant director for outreach at the marine research, education and outreach organization. Dye has 30 years of experience in conservation, from bottomland hardwood forests to subtropical coral reefs, as well as marine habitats in the Pacific Northwest. He was with The Nature Conservancy as director of marine conservation for Washington. Washington Sea Grant is based at the UW College of the Environment.

Katherine C. Spelman has joined Lane Powell as a shareholder in the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group. She was a partner with K&L Gates LLP and a founding partner in Cobalt LLP. Spelman has more than 30 years of experience, with a focus on media, licensing and mass digitization issues.
