Washington Student Achievement Council

Dr. Gene Sharratt, executive director of the Washington Student Achievement Council, will retire in June. Sharratt has held the position for three years.

Lane Powell

Harold Malkin has joined Lane Powell as a shareholder in the Litigation Department, and will chair the Investigations and Regulatory Compliance Team. He served more than 20 years with the Department of Justice, most recently as chief of the Affirmative Civil Enforcement Unit in the U.S. Attorney's Office in Seattle.

ABC of Western Washington

Three members of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington won awards last month at the ABC National 26th Annual Excellence in Construction ceremony in Florida. Synergy Construction of Woodinville received Pyramid awards for the Peters Place homeless shelter and the City North Apartments renovation, both in Seattle. Centennial Contractors Enterprises received the National Safety Merit Award and Nova Group received the National Safety Excellence Award. Both Centennial and Nova have local branch offices.

Lloyd Construction

David Lloyd, president of Lloyd Construction in Ketchum, Idaho, was named to Professional Builder magazine's annual 40 Under 40 list. A panel of Professional Builder editors selected the winners based on personal and professional accomplishments. Lloyd holds a bachelor's degree in geography and land use planning from the University of Nevada.

HackerAgency, an Interpublic Group digital/direct marketing company based in Seattle, named Julie Rezek its first North American president. Rezek joins from WPP agency Wunderman, where she was Seattle president and global client lead for Microsoft. She has more than 17 years of experience.

Context Relevant

The Seattle-based automated data science platform firm Context Relevant named Joseph Polverari CEO. Polverari has more than 20 years of experience in financial services, and was chief strategy and development officer at Yodlee. Context Relevant focuses on machine learning for cybersecurity, fraud prevention, sales and marketing. It also has an office in New York City.

The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America said Seattle resident and Arbutus CEO Mark J. Murray, Ph.D., is a new member of its national board of trustees.

Citi Private Bank

Citi Private Bank named Hoyt Gier, currently regional market manager of the Pacific Northwest, to oversee both Northern California and Pacific Northwest markets. Gier will relocate to the firm's San Francisco office, while continuing to spend time in the Pacific Northwest. Gier joined Citi in 2010 from Goldman Sachs and helped open Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management office in Seattle.

Josh McDonald joins CBRE

CBRE hired Josh McDonald as a partner on its Northwest Multifamily Institutional Investment team. The team is headed by Jon Hallgrimson, and it works on a variety of properties: workforce housing, suburban property, downtown buildings and development sites. McDonald worked for Holland Partner Group of Vancouver for more than 10 years before joining Rhapsody Property Management Services of Toronto. He has experience as an investor, developer, owner and manager.

ARCH honors Bel-Red TODs

A Regional Coalition for Housing gave its 2016 Community Recognition Award to the city of Bellevue and Sound Transit for bringing transit-oriented development and affordable housing to Bel-Red Corridor. Bellevue and Sound Transit negotiated a memorandum of understanding in 2015 that called for creating a mixed-use neighborhood around the future 130th Avenue Northeast station with housing, office space, retail and pedestrian connections. The city pledged to build a park and ride for 300 vehicles. ARCH is a partnership between King County and Eastside cities focused on affordable housing.

Alesko joins Churchill Mortgage

Churchill Mortgage added Debbie Alesko to the Gig Harbor branch as a loan partner. Alesko is one of 28 people Churchill recently hired in Washington, Colorado, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Churchill has offices in 36 states.

Cristy Handsaker of CH2M, Al Kinisky of Concur Technologies, Karen Kramer of Shaw Industries Group and Scott Schlumberger of Cushman & Wakefield/Commerce are directors. Brian Collins of Microsoft is president-elect and Michelle Kelly of Western Office Interiors is secretary.
