At its Seattle headquarters, Hart Crowser hired Michael Schmitz, Barbara Thunder and Jenna Jacoby as geotechnical engineers and Coire McCabe as a geologist. Schmitz has 13 years of experience on transportation, airport and river levee projects. Thunder will work on slope stability and groundwater flow projects. Jacoby specializes in computer modeling for geotechnical applications. McCabe will work on environmental cleanup, creek restoration, and closing abandoned mines. Hart Crowser is a 110-person engineering, science and consulting firm with offices in Washington, Oregon, Hawaii and Alaska.

In Seattle, OAC Services promoted Alisa Billbe and Wesley Bergquist to senior project manager, Andrew Heiner and David McBride to project manager, and Kimberly Stevens to senior project coordinator. They are in the project and construction management practice group. Billbe led two major projects with multiple stakeholders. Bergquist helped build and support OAC's nonprofit market, with clients such as Hopelink and Food Lifeline. Heiner managed relationships with Swedish Medical Group that led to new work. McBride helped OAC succeed in the K-12 market and southwest Washington business development. Stevens coordinated groups and managers, and helped create OAC's Intranet.

Seattle-based architecture firm Patano Studio Architecture hired Dan Leckman as a project architect, John Ales and Michael Eliason as project managers, and Sophie Gao, Alberto Saez and Kaitlin Vining as designers. Leckman works on Port of Seattle and parks projects. Ales has 20 years of experience, and has worked on all aspects of projects. Eliason is a Passivhaus designer, writer and project manager who worked on the first multifamily Passivhaus project in Seattle. Gao has a bachelor's in architectural studies from Washington State University and was promoted from the Patano intern program. Saez has four years of experience in public works, housing and retail projects in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Vining has five years of experience.

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory

Collins Wideman

Cheri Collins Wideman has been named director of human resources at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. She was director of FMC's Human Resources for global corporate functions and talent acquisition. At PNNL, Wideman will lead a team of 65 professionals.







Clark Nuber

Clark Nuber PS, CPA firm based in Bellevue, named a new tax principal: Rene Schaefer, CPA. She was with SVA Certified Public Accountants, S.C. in Brookfield, Wisconsin, and has 30 years of experience.

University of Washington Bothell

Ruth Johnston, a longtime University of Washington administrator, has been appointed vice chancellor for administration and planning at University of Washington Bothell. She was associate vice president and chief of staff, planning and management in Seattle, and filled in on an interim basis after Ana Karaman took a position at Webster University in St. Louis.

Burgess

The Walsh Group hired Anthony Burgess and Gabrielle Palazzolo as project engineers in its Seattle office. Burgess previously worked at Brown and Caldwell, the city of Crescent City in California, and Stover Engineering. He is assigned to a project at Kitsap Naval Base. Palazzolo's background is in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural and wastewater facility design. She interned at the Nevada Department of Transportation and Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. She is working on the Denny Substation project in Seattle.

Goldfinch Brothers

Everett-based Goldfinch Brothers promoted Jennifer Howell to controller. Howell joined the company in mid-2015 and helped it covert to Sage 100 accounting software. She worked for 18 years at Primo Construction in Port Angeles, and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance from Washington State University. Goldfinch is a commercial and residential glass and glazing company. It also makes and distributes curtain wall and an interior sliding door system.

Northwest Kidney Centers

Nephrologist Dr. Suzanne Watnick of Portland has been appointed chief medical officer at Northwest Kidney Centers. Watnick was acting division chief of nephrology at Portland's Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She was medical director of the dialysis unit for 14 years and began the home dialysis program. Dr. Bonnie Collins served for two years as interim chief medical officer, and will continue as associate chief medical officer.

Stoel Rives

Stoel Rives named Vanessa Soriano Power office managing partner in Seattle, overseeing more than 80 attorneys in the law firm's second-largest office. She succeeds Jeffrey W. Leppo, who has retired. Power focuses her practice on trial and appellate work.

Puget Sound Bank

Puget Sound Bank, the bank subsidiary of Puget Sound Bancorp, said David Stegmeier has been promoted to senior vice president, relationship manager.
