Seattle Chocolate

Seattle Chocolate Co. has opened a new store on Concourse C at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, selling locally crafted jcoco and Seattle Chocolate products. Seattle Chocolate started in 1992, and is owned and led by CEO Jean Thompson.

Ormuco

Ormuco, provider of intelligent cloud platforms for enterprises and service providers with offices in Montreal and Seattle, is expanding its engineering and product teams in Seattle for its Ormuco Stack product, which is powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning. Devananda van der Veen and Sriram Subramanian are the Seattle engineering team. The Seattle office also hired Erin Paiso as marketing director.

Lease Crutcher Lewis

Construction for Change, Hermanson Co. and Lease Crutcher Lewis volunteered to build a community garden in Kent for World Relief Seattle. The garden provides food for immigrants and refugees. Twenty-two volunteers built six raised ADA-accessible planter beds and three composting areas. Pacific Construction Supply donated materials and tools, as did Hermanson and Lewis. Construction for Change is a nonprofit that partners with community organizations on infrastructure projects, recruits professional volunteers, and manages the work.

PCL Construction

The local office of PCL Construction Services donated $5,000 to Food Lifeline and Northwest Harvest. The donation was expected to result in about 20,000 meals. It's the ninth consecutive year that PCL has helped out with holiday meals.

Overcash

David Overcash, a technology and consulting industry veteran, is joining Revel Consulting in Seattle as its first chief commercial officer. Overcash will advance technology offerings and partnership strategy. He co-founded Brightlight Consulting, a Big Data analytics firm, and also worked at Systech Solutions and Infogain.

Tacoma Public Utilities

The Public Utility Board selected former Tacoma Water Superintendent Linda McCrea as interim utilities director until a permanent director is hired. The Tacoma City Council will vote on her appointment Nov. 28. McCrea, who retired April 1, would be Tacoma Public Utilities' first female director. She will fill a role vacated by Bill Gaines, who will retire Nov. 30. Mycoff, Fry & Prouse will conduct the search for a permanent director.

Arup appointed Joshua Yacknowitz Seattle Group Leader, a job held by Cormac Deavy, who is moving to the United Kingdom as Arup's Buildings West Leader. Yacknowitz will work to increase prime agency work with local clients based on his experience as Arup's Americas Region Science & Industry Business Leader. His work includes manufacturing facilities for Procter & Gamble. Arup provides planning, engineering, design and consulting services.

HNTB

Hampden

In Bellevue, Julie Hampden joined HNTB Corp.'s environmental planning practice as science project manager and an Endangered Species Act leader. Hampden will provide consultation for ESA compliance for clients in the Northwest. She spent the last 17 years with an environmental consulting firm in Seattle, including as project manager, supervisor, group manager and technical reviewer. HNTB is an infrastructure firm that works with owners and contractors.

Murraysmith

Rayasam

Murraysmith, a Pacific Northwest public infrastructure engineering firm, named Chris Rayasam president and CEO. Past president and CEO Troy Bowers will continue to serve as executive vice president. As chief financial officer, Rayasam played a key role in defining Murraysmith's strategic plan, growing the team and expanding its capabilities. He will continue to focus on business strategy, communications, finance and growth.

Spokane-based Bernardo|Wills Architects hired Licia LeGrant as an architect, Philip S. Ward as a landscape architect and Saul Rip Hansen as a BIM/CAD technician. LeGrant has 16 years of experience, most recently as a project estimator/architect with All Wall Contracting. She is working on the Catalyst Project in Spokane. Ward has 36 years of experience, including at Bernardo|Wills from 2010 to 2013. He is working on the landscape and irrigation modification for Mission Park in Spokane. Hansen has eight years of drafting experience, and was a partner in Hansen Designs. He is doing drafting, design and construction support for projects that include Eagle River Luxury Living in Eagle, Idaho. Bernardo|Wills provides architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and master planning.

OAC Services promoted Jeff Jurgensen to regional director of OAC Eastern Washington. He has 26 years of experience as a project and construction manager. He will lead development of Eastern Washington project management services, manage the Spokane office and contribute to OAC leadership. The Seattle firm provides construction management, forensic architecture and engineering, structural engineering and building envelope consulting.

Lake Forest Park-based Davido Consulting Group hired Will Zweig, Alan Guo and Senait Gebreeyesus as civil engineers to support public and private work, Amanda Young as business and finance manager and Sarah Foster as an office administrator. Zweig has a master's in civil engineering and international development and worked for two years with the Peace Corps in partnership with Bridges to Prosperity in Mozambique. Guo is a recent civil engineering graduate of the University of Washington. Gebreeyesus holds a bachelor's in environmental engineering and a master's in civil engineering from the UW. DCG is a civil and structural engineering firm with three offices in the Puget Sound area.

Edmonds-based Landau Associates hired Melissa DiLoreto as a staff engineer-in-training and Sam Bartish as a staff scientist/GIS technician in the environmental remediation group. DiLoreto has a bachelor's in civil engineering from Seattle University. She will assist with performance monitoring and operations and maintenance for groundwater extraction and treatment systems. Bartish was a Landau intern. He has a bachelor's in geology from the University of Oregon and a GIS certificate. He will assist with groundwater monitoring projects and provide GIS support. Landau provides geotechnical and environmental engineering, environmental site management, and permitting and compliance services.

Parametrix

Pennington

Parametrix hired David Pennington as vice president of infrastructure and environmental services in the Southwest. Pennington will work to grow the firm's transportation and environmental services in New Mexico and Utah, and its Colorado and Arizona presence. He will be on the corporate leadership team and have company-wide responsibilities. He spent nearly 20 years at WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff. Parametrix provides engineering, planning and environmental sciences.

Perkins Coie

Perkins Coie said Robert L. Mahon has been named firmwide chair of the Tax, Benefits & Compensation practice. He is a partner in the Seattle office, past president of the Tax Section of the Washington State Bar Association, and an adjunct professor at the University of Washington School of Law.

Small Business Development Center

Cynthia Ann Brooks has joined the Washington Small Business Development Center for Skagit, Island and San Juan counties, providing no-cost, confidential advising to entrepreneurs and small business owners. SBDC's statewide network is hosted by Washington State University, and Brooks' office is in Mount Vernon.
