Tacoma-based Swenson Healthcare hired Raymond Thompson as executive director. Thompson has over 25 years of experience as an executive, administrator and clinician in long-term care. He was senior executive director for Life Care Center of Port Orchard, as well as vice president for Life Care's Northwest Division. Swenson Healthcare is a clinical practice serving long-term care patients throughout Washington.

Washington State University soil scientist David Brown is the new director of AgWeatherNet, an agricultural weather station network that helps Washington growers. Brown is associate professor in WSU's Department of Crop and Soil Sciences. He replaces Gary Grove, who stepped down last month.
Seattle-based Receptor Life Sciences appointed Dr. Orrin Devinsky as chief medical officer. Devinsky is director of NYU Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and Saint Barnabas Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery. Receptor Life Sciences develops cannabinoid drugs.
GSC Logistics relocated its Pacific Northwest regional office to Tacoma, at 3600 Port of Tacoma Road. The Oakland, California-based company says the new office has more yard space and accommodates additional staff resulting from strong growth in the region. GSC provides third party logistics.









Tacoma-based Colvos Construction hired Brian Neal, Scott Fletcher, Mark Tellez and Gabrielle Marshall as project engineers; Bill Lepola as superintendent; Leonard Maack, Michael Drawdy and Andrew Manteufel as assistant superintendents; and Lynnae Wilson as administrative assistant. Neal has a bachelor's degree in business management from Washington State University and is working on a tenant improvement for Ivar's in Issaquah. Fletcher is working on the Vue 25 multifamily project and the third phase of the Infoblox TI, both in Tacoma. Tellez holds a bachelor's in political science from the University of Memphis and is working on an office buildout at 111 Fawcett in Tacoma. Marshall has a bachelor's in project management from City University and is working on the Asadero restaurant in Tacoma. Lepola has nearly 40 years of construction experience and is working on a TI at Spud's Fish & Chips in Alki. Maack has more than 20 years of experience and is working on Vue 25. Drawdy has expertise in TIs and industrial projects and is working on the Stor-house Renton project. Manteufel has five years of industry experience and is working on Stor-house projects in Renton and Puyallup. Wilson has experience in merchandising and hospitality.



Burlington-based Trico Companies hired Kelly Gieser, Mark Knudson and Kolby Doerge as superintendents. Gieser has 40 years of experience in residential and commercial construction, and is a certified commercial building inspector. Knudson has over 40 years of construction experience and spent 20 years training apprentices and future superintendents. Doerge has over 20 years of construction experience as a grade setter, grade engineer and operator for site and heavy highway development.

The Associated General Contractors of Washington hired Lance Calloway as Northern District manager. Calloway has 24 years of experience leading nonprofit organizations in the Whatcom County area, including a nearly 20-year stint as executive director of Whatcom Sports & Recreation. He holds a bachelor's in economics from Western Washington University.

Pearse Edwards is the new senior director of external relations at the Port of Seattle. Edwards was director of government relations and acting senior director of external relations at the port. Prior to that, he was an advisor to governors Gary Locke and Chris Gregoire, and North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue, as well as a communications director at Microsoft.
Pascal Biosciences, a drug development company with offices in Vancouver, B.C., and Seattle, hired Kevin M. Egan as vice president of business development, Thomas Deckwerth as vice president of therapeutic development and Larry W. Tjoelker as vice president of research. Egan has over 30 years of experience in biotech, with stints at Amgen, Icos, CMC Biologics and Borealis Biotechnology. Deckwerth has 20 years of experience in therapeutics and medical device R&D, lastly as vice president of cancer drug development at Presage Biosciences. Tjoelker has over 25 years of research experience in biotechnology, working at Icos, MacroGenics and Omeros.
Bellevue-based Auth0, a provider of identity-as-a-service authentication infrastructure, added Jun Fujita as country manager in Tokyo. Fujita has nearly 20 years of IT experience, and was country manager for Elastic and GitHub in Japan. Auth0 is expanding in Japan, where growth in cloud services spending is expected to be second highest in the world in the next five years.
Better Business Bureau Northwest-Pacific gave seven 2018 Torch Award for Ethics. Business of the Year winners are Boundless Immigration (Seattle), 16 Cents Corp. (Spokane), SQ Merchants (Tigard, Oregon), Meridian Automotive (Meridian, Idaho), Modern Plumbing (Kalispell, Montana), Alaska Sleep Clinic (Anchorage) and Body in Balance (Lahaina, Hawaii). Charity of the Year winner is Friends of the Children-Portland.
