Iyengar

Seattle-based Caron Architecture promoted Archana Iyengar to senior architect and Marsha Mawer-Olson to senior project manager. Iyengar has led large residential projects, including Vivid Apartments on Queen Anne and Tacoma Town Center mixed-use development. Mawer-Olson will help lead Caron's mid-rise, multifamily and mixed-use team. She has managed and designed mid-rise apartment projects, and is working on the 2121 Fifth Ave. tower.

Fraser

Seattle-based Johnston Architects promoted Alex Fraser, Kathy Justice and Michael Bowles to associate. Fraser leads the single-family team. He is project architect for Tesseract in Seattle, Chelan House in Lake Chelan and Pacifica House in Pacifica, California. Justice is on the multifamily team. She has over 20 years of experience in that sector on the West Coast. She is project manager for the 154-unit Rainier Central in Columbia City. Bowles is on the multifamily team. His background includes studying interior design at a Buddhist monastery and founding an interactive lighting design-build business. He is project manager for Lee Street Lofts, a four-unit row house, and Howe Street Development, two houses and a duplex, in Queen Anne. The firm provides architectural, interior design and planning services.

Groesbeck

In Seattle, Confluence Environmental Co. hired Amy Groesbeck as a project biologist and Kelly Muething as a staff scientist. Groesbeck has eight years of experience in nearshore applied ecology, including shellfish management, research investigations and environmental monitoring plans for Northwest coastal communities. Muething has a master's in marine resource management and experience in projects involving aquaculture and eelgrass beds; estuarine field sampling; taxonomy; and data collection and management. They will do permitting and environmental documentation for marine and freshwater projects. Confluence specializes in natural resource services; restoration/mitigation; and regulatory strategy, compliance, and permitting.

Capozzola

Farallon Consulting hired Dan Capozzola as a principal and Catherine Rhode as a senior geologist in its Bend, Oregon office. Capozzola has 29 years of experience as a principal environmental scientist, including implementing innovative strategies in environmental consulting and brownfield redevelopment. Rhode has 29 years of environmental consulting experience and is a licensed geologist in Oregon, Washington and California.

Stantec

Garrett

Tom Garrett joined Stantec as a senior civil engineer in its transportation group in Anchorage. He has 20 years of experience, including project design for site development, road reconstruction and resurfacing, grading and drainage plans, retaining wall design and utility main extensions. He has done projects for the state, utilities, and the oil and gas industry at Stantec, a global engineering, architecture and consulting firm.

City of Redmond

Redmond police chief Kristi Wilson was appointed interim public works director. Wilson is serving in both positions until a new director is hired. She has been with the city for 25 years in management positions. Martin Pastucha last week resigned as public works director.

Wave Aquatics

In Kirkland, Wave Aquatics hired Jonathan Alford as executive director and named Chad Winkle as swim team head coach. Alford has been CEO and CFO of consumer travel and sustainability focused startups, a management consultant, and part of the executive operations group for the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics. Winkle was interim head coach at Wave and head coach for Pacific Northwest Swimming All-Stars team. He has 15 years of coaching experience. Wave provides aquatics programs at Juanita Aquatics Center and in Redmond at Hartman Pool and Willows Preparatory School.

Bellevue College

Bellevue College Continuing Education adjunct professor Matthew Zell joined the administrative staff as director of corporate solutions. Zell has taught leadership development, process improvement and HR classes for three years at BCCE. His new role focuses on developing training programs with area businesses.

AFF Global Logistics

Odyssey Logistics & Technology completed the acquisition of Fife-based AFF Global Logistics for $465 million. Danbury, Connecticut-based Odyssey provides global logistics and transportation services; AFF provides domestic offshore services, freight forwarding and warehousing.
