In Seattle, PCS Structural Solutions hired Connor Moore, Samantha Taylor and Spencer Sharma as design engineers. In Tacoma, the firm hired Brian Krieger as a project engineer, Jared Plank as an associate and Valerie Hendel as a marketing assistant. Moore holds a master's in structural engineering from Seattle University and is working on Issaquah High School in Issaquah and Sunrise Elementary School HVAC replacement in Kent. Taylor holds a bachelor's in architectural engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. She is working on Highline High School in Burien and Yesler Terrace Block 5.1 in Seattle. Sharma has a bachelor's in civil engineering from Washington State University and is working on Clover Park Technical College in Lakewood and Issaquah High School. Krieger has over four years of experience on flood resilience and transit projects. His work includes the Olympia High School addition and modernization in Olympia and South Bend Elementary School in South Bend. Plank has over 14 years of structural engineering experience on hospitality and high-rise projects in the U.S. At PCS, he is working on Sound Transit projects in Seattle and a feasibility study for Thurston County Courthouse in Olympia. Hendel has 15 years of marketing, writing and public relations experience. She supports the firm's marketing activities. PCS is a 72-person structural engineering firm.

In Portland, LRS Architects promoted Chuck Archer, Bruce Barton, Monica Jones, Alex Karel and Lisa Warnock to associate. Archer has over 20 years of experience as an architect and a client-site developer for senior housing. Barton has over 27 years of experience designing educational, civic, retail and commercial facilities, and is working on senior housing. Jones is an architect with experience on housing, retail and office projects, and an understanding of construction administration procedures and specification writing. Karel is an architect and involved in the firm's auto studio, and is working on the Washington County Fair and Event Center. Warnock has over 17 years of interior design experience, specializing in senior and multifamily housing, and commercial office projects. She also is a lighting professional in the Portland area. Hayden, Idaho-based Allwest Testing & Engineering hired Jane Salmons as its human resources manager. Salmons was with Trindera Engineering for 11 years, most recently as human resources director. She also spent over 14 years at Puget Sound Energy in operations support. Allwest is an engineering, environmental, and construction materials testing firm.

In Seattle, Lease Crutcher Lewis hired Richard Reynolds as senior project manager, Tina Sealey as site safety coordinator, Benjamin Copstead as risk manager, Celina Yee as project engineer, Bob Cobb as concrete superintendent and Josh Southard as field superintendent. Reynolds has 25 years of construction project management experience and is a LEED GA. Sealey has over five years of experience as a site safety manager covering structural steel erection, claims management and client relations. Copstead has focused on construction finance and corporate banking for 12 years, and is a CPA. Yee earned a certificate in construction management last year from the University of Washington. She worked in architecture for 10 years and holds a master's degree in architecture from the University of Toronto. Cobb has 37 years of concrete construction experience and is a graduate of the concrete program at Bates Technical College. Southard has been in construction for 25 years.

In Seattle, The Walsh Group hired Brandon Hill-Rogers as project engineer in the Estimating Department for the Heavy Civil Division. Hill-Rogers comes from the Navy, where he flew in the backseat of EA-18G Growler jets in Oak Harbor.

Crews at University Mechanical Contractors have racked up 1 million hours without a recordable safety incident. Mukilteo-based UMC also is approaching 600 consecutive days of no recordable incidents company-wide. Kirk Baisch is the firm's safety director.

Roger McClendon is the new executive director of Green Sports Alliance. McClendon was chief sustainability officer at Yum Brands. He also led the development of Blueline, a sustainable design guide for restaurants built on the LEED certification program. Portland-based Green Sports Alliance uses sports to promote healthy, sustainable communities throughout the world.
