McCabe

In Seattle, Northwest Kidney Centers named Carrie McCabe as interim CEO. McCabe will assume the temporary position next month and resume her current role as vice president of finance and CFO after a new president/CEO is hired. Current president and CEO Joyce F. Jackson is retiring Nov. 1. Northwest Kidney Centers is a regional not-for-profit dialysis provider.

Summit Bank

Wanichek

Craig Wanichek was appointed to a second term as Independent Community Bankers of America's Oregon delegate to the Federal Delegate Board. Wanichek is president and CEO of Summit Bank, as well as president of the Oregon Bankers Association. Summit Bank has offices in Eugene, Portland and central Oregon.

Peterson Sullivan

Chicago-based accounting and advisory firm BDO USA LLP is buying Seattle-based accounting and advisory firm Peterson Sullivan. The deal is expected to close Nov. 1. Peterson Sullivan has 175 employees, with clients in a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, real estate and technology. BDO will consolidate its existing Seattle operations into Peterson Sullivan's downtown offices at Two Union Square. Chris Russell, managing partner of Peterson Sullivan, will become market managing partner for BDO in Seattle. Michael Reeves and Bob Filip will continue in their respective roles as BDO's assurance and tax managing partners for the combined Seattle practice.

TJ's Gardens

Boca Raton, Florida-based Stem Holdings is acquiring Consolidated Ventures of Oregon and OPCO Holdings, which operate as cannabis grower and retailer TJ's Gardens. Stem will retain Eugene, Oregon-based TJ's employees and brands. The deal is valued at $12.5 million in Stem common stock and is expected to close by year end.

Inovia Vein

Inovia Vein Specialty Centers partnered with Dr. Andrew Gentile to open a clinic in Happy Valley, Oregon. It is Inovia's fourth clinic in Oregon and third in the Portland area. Gentile is a vascular surgeon whose practice now focuses entirely on the outpatient treatment of common vein disorders.

Seattle-based Rolluda Architects hired Sabina Punjani as an interior designer and Zamzam Arale, Deepa Surendranath, Eleanor Shull and Tracy Law as project designers. Punjani holds a bachelor's in commerce from Mumbai University and an advanced diploma of interior design from L.S. Raheja School of Architecture in Mumbai. She is working on the interior design of the Filipino Community Village Senior Housing and Innovative Learning Center in Seattle. Arale holds a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Washington. She is working on the Filipino CID Parklet and Foulee Market in Seattle.

Surendranath has a degree in architecture from the Regional Engineering College (now National Institute of Technology) in Tiruchirappalli, India, a master's in architecture from the University of Tennessee, and a master's in project management from the National University of Singapore. She is working on interior improvements at three community centers in South Seattle. Shull has a bachelor of architecture degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She is working on the Grandview Early Learning Center in Tacoma for the Puyallup Tribe of Indians. Law holds a bachelor of arts in architectural design from the UW. She is working on classroom upgrades at Eckstein and McClure middle schools in Seattle for Seattle Public Schools and several projects in Whatcom County for the Mount Baker School District.

ALSC Architects of Spokane hired Janice Feldman as an administrative specialist and Taylor Lynch as an architectural intern. Feldman has a versatile set of skills with a broad, varied work history. Lynch holds a bachelor of science in architecture and a master of architecture from Washington State University. She is on the team for the new Highland Middle School for Mead School District. ALSC provides planning and design services.

Seattle Public Schools

Hersey

Seattle Public Schools appointed Brandon Hersey as board director of District VII, which encompasses Southeast Seattle. Hersey replaces Betty Patu, who retired over the summer before her term was to expire in 2021. Hersey will serve on the board for the remainder of the term and may run for the position in the 2021 election. The school board made the appointment because the vacancy occurred outside the regular election cycle.

Alliant Insurance Services

Peter Seeley joined Alliant Insurance Services as vice president in the Employee Benefits Group in Portland. Seeley was a senior business planner and business development manager at the Portland branch of a national health plan. Alliant is based in Newport Beach, California.

Seattle Department of Neighborhoods

Osbaldo Hernandez is a new community engagement coordinator for the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, where he serves South and West Seattle. Hernandez was a program manager at Lutheran Community Services Northwest, where he helped homeless families and individuals. He is co-owner of Frelard Tamales.

Fern + Foster Family Wellness Center

Danielle Schell, Olivia Bennett and Emily Ager founded Fern + Foster Family Wellness Center in Tacoma's Hilltop neighborhood. The center at 1402 S. 11th St. is a community hub for family events, classes and perinatal services. It has a lounge, retail space, private waiting room, three exam rooms, a classroom and children's play area. Schell is a certified birth and bereavement doula with a background in small business development. Bennett is a nurse-midwife. Ager is a midwife and certified lactation consultant, with experience in private practice and hospital-based care.

Spokane Chapter No. 143 of the National Association of Women in Construction installed its 2019-20 officers and board. Lisa Yandrich, administrative manager of Trico Companies, joined the board of the Association of Washington Business. Yandrich has been with Burlington-based Trico since 2014. Prior to that, she provided executive, business and administrative support at the Washington State Employment Security Department.

Mukilteo-based University Mechanical Contractors is rebranding itself as UMC. The company says it shortened its name so that it's inclusive of all its expertise and offerings. UMC provides mechanical design and construction, energy services and facility maintenance.
