Debates in New York about how to rebuild the World Trade Center site provide a look at the new owner of Southcenter Mall, recently renamed Westfield Shoppingtown Southcenter.
Seventy-two-year-old Frank Lowy of Australia's Westfield Holdings Ltd. bought Southcenter last December, through its American operation called Westfield America Trust, as part of a $756 million purchase of nine shopping centers in the Western United States from the Richard E. Jacobs Group of Ohio.
