Here is something for the "Only in the Northwest" category: A commercial real estate broker in Portland is looking at launching a REIT that would invest in environmentally smart industrial projects.
Mark Hush of Capacity Commercial Group has been in on a handful of green projects as an appraiser and broker. Those were in the urban core where, he says, "it's implicitly easier" to meet U.S. Green Building Council criteria. Industrial "just doesn't seem to pan out."
