How much scaffolding does it take to change a light bulb at the Seattle Central Library? Scaffolding? Yup, in September workers had to use a large scaffolding to reach light bulbs and electrical components they were replacing in the 48- to 52-foot-tall third-floor ceiling of the iconic 1000 Fourth Ave. library.
Workers last tried that type work in August of 2006 using a Denka mobile lift. They got about half-way done when “a small part of that floor started to bow and we decided to remove the lift before we damaged the floor,” said Caroline Ullmann, library spokeswoman.
