On the Block: Velmeir gets city OK for 82 units and new PCC on site in the Madison Valley
Plans to redevelop the site of City People's Garden Store at 2925 E. Madison St. in Madison Valley have had a long and contentious history.
The project spent two years in design review before gaining board approval in the fall of 2017. It was then also granted a determination of non-significance, with no environmental impact statement required. Prospective buyer and developer Velmeir Cos. had hoped to begin construction in 2017, then 2018, for what it now calls The Madison.
