The announced sale of 300 Pine, with a rumored price tag of $580 million, hasn't yet been recorded by the county. Starwood Capital, of Connecticut will be the seller, after buying the building in chunks from 2015 to 2020 for almost $184 million.
New owners KKR and Urban Renaissance Group have the security of upstairs tenant Amazon, with about 682,000 square feet of office space in what the company calls BlueShift. Longtime local shoppers generally refer to the landmarked, full-block structure at 300 Pine St. as the Macy's or Bon Marche building. Macy's closed in February of last year, just before the pandemic struck.
