On the Block: Redmond embraces density, streamlined design review

“Redmond is changing from a suburb to a city.” Don't believe me? I'm quoting the city's long-brewing Redmond 2050 Comprehensive Plan update. The City Council endorsed the overhaul last fall, and it should go into effect after a few more municipal meetings this spring and summer.

During the same period, likely in May, two more Redmond light rail stations will open on the east end of the 2 Line … then possibly connect to Seattle this winter. The city will next present the Remond 2050 proposal on March 26.
