Consumers have tried to keep Individual Retirement Accounts geared to serve only retirement plans, but terrific intentions sometimes have to take an alternate road.
For example, Tom Galey, a member of the military stationed in Vilseck, about 40 miles from Nuremberg in Bavaria, recently sent an email, saying he would be returning home next summer and wanted to buy a piece of property. Could he use his IRA to help purchase his first home?
