A few weeks ago, we addressed the possibility of a purchasing a college town rental home where your child would be attending school.
That scenario, which hinges on the ability of the child to play the roll of landlord – recruiting able renters, documenting expenses – typically is not for an immature freshman whom has no business living off campus. It can work very well, however, if the parents can swing the down payment and youngster is mature – knowing full well the damage uninvited partyers can render on a cute, little rental.
