Military families can get help, if they ask

Active-duty troops from Texas, Virginia, California and Washington are being called up. Thousands of reservists are being called back. However, the Everett-based U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln was basically told to turn around.

The escalating tension with Iraq has placed an “indefinite” time period on the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier’s stay in the Persian Gulf, breaking hearts back home and creating more domestic issues – including mortgages and other debt.
