The Client Coach How to build strong business relationships |
June 25, 2003
I’m reading this great book entitled "Leadership and Self-Deception" by the Arbinger Institute. One statement in particular caught my attention and became the inspiration behind this article. The passage goes like this: People respond primarily to how we’re feeling about them on the inside. Ah, the power of non-verbal communication!
We humans have some pretty amazing sensory capabilities. Unfortunately they tend to get overshadowed by certain other living things. Take the buzzard for example. A buzzard’s sense of sight is so great it can see small rodents from a height of 15,000 feet. And did you know a catfish has 100,000 taste buds compared to our 10,000? Can you imagine anything more wonderful than to be a catfish while eating a piece of tiramisu?
