Bellevue Downtown Association

The Bellevue Downtown Association last week awarded its first annual Place Making Awards that recognize downtown leaders, and announced its new brand identity and tagline: Making a Great Place Together. The winners are: John Boespflug City Builder Award, Robert Wallace of Wallace Properties; Place Maker of the Year, CollinsWoerman and Streetworks; Gutsy Move of the Year, John Howie, Seastar Restaurant; Deal Maker of the Year, Lisa Rowe, Bentall Capital; Tradition Builder, Wells Fargo; Miracle of the Year, City of Bellevue Access Downtown Team; Leadership Award, City of Bellevue; DIP Purple Heart Award, Stu Vander Hoek; Community Treasure Award, Bellevue Art Museum.

Williams Marketing has added James Schaefer to its sales force. Schaefer has nearly 30 years of real estate sales experience. He will sell condos and townhomes in Seattle, including the 50 units in Uptown Queen Anne, the recently completed IV West development at 530 Fourth Ave. W. Schaefer was awarded the Certified Sales Professional and several Institute of Residential Marketing designations from the National Homebuilder’s Association.

Unico Properties recently hired Jan Rockas as director of human resources. She brings 15 years of human resources management experience to Unico. Rockas was manager of human resources for Targeted Genetics and human resources manager for Wright Runstad and Co. Before joining Wright Runstad, she worked for Nordstrom for 15 years as a personnel director. She will be in charge of training and development, organizational development and employee relations.

Kiemle and Hagood

Kiemle and Hagood Co. has been hired to lead a new team that includes Susan Zimmerman of Seattle to manage and lease space at River Park Square in Spokane. Zimmerman, who represented the 350,000-square-foot Pacific Place in Seattle during its initial leasing phase, joins the team from Insignia Kidder Mathews of Seattle. She has 20 years of commercial real estate experience. Five other brokers and a leasing manager will work with the development team to bring occupancy of River Park Square to capacity, said Tom Quigley, president and CEO of Kiemle and Hagood. River Park Square currently is 90 percent leased.

Heritage Bank

Olympia-based Heritage Bank added three new commercial lending officers to its Pierce County Business Banking team, all three as senior vice presidents. Donald A. Andersen has more than 30 years of banking experience in the Pierce County market. Robert A. Bruback's background includes more than 25 years in the Tacoma market. Gary Lindberg has 30 years of banking experience, including 10 years in the Pierce County market. They will initially be located in the 56th and South Tacoma Way office, and move to the Heritage Bank Building downtown after that space is remodeled.

Century 21 homeownership workshops

The Century 21 Real Estate Center will hold two community workshops on Saturday, April 19, on "Becoming Your Own Landlord by Home Ownership."
