John T. Werdel joined Puget Sound Properties in Bellevue as a senior associate, specializing in Eastside office sales and leasing. Werdel has worked in commercial real estate since 1998.
Touchstone Corp. President Douglas Howe will serve almost two years as chair of a National Association of Industrial and Office Properties program for senior-level office developers. NAIOP holds national forums that provide networking symposia for NAIOP members with 10 or more years of experience in their field. This year's 14 national forums will be held in Phoenix on April 1-3. Howe will chair a forum called Office Development II. Touchstone is a Seattle-based office and retail development company.
Shea Homes hired Intrawest Golf to manage the new Trilogy Golf Course, which will open in late May in Redmond as part of the Trilogy at Redmond Ridge master-planned housing community for active seniors. The 18-hole course is the first design in Washington by Gary Panks, and the first one in the state that Intrawest will manage. Intrawest Golf is a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based division of Vancouver, B.C.-based Intrawest Corp., which owns and operates ski resorts such as Whistler Blackcomb.
John Werner sold the 177-unit Meridian Ridge Apartments in Kent for $7.7 million to Milestone Development. Broker Dave Schumacher of Columbia Partners LLC represented both parties. Part of the purchase by Milestone was by way of a trade property, while Werner's Meridian Ridge LLC traded into the 216-unit Lake Fenwick Estates, also in Kent.
Meridian Ridge LLC bought Lake Fenwick Estates from D. Shafran Investments Ltd., with Schumacher brokering that deal, too. Werner will upgrade Lake Fenwick Estates, Schumacher said.
Agents Cheryl Farnham of Coldwell Banker Bain and Pak Ung of Preview Properties were the top two sellers last year of houses built by Quadrant Homes. Quadrant sold a total 967 homes last year. Each agent received a Rolex watch at the Weyerhaeuser subsidiary's recent 2002 "Night of the Stars" dinner.
Cory Naber, Steve Huxtable, Dwayne Maneval and Mandi Vanderpol joined the Federal Way office of John L. Scott Real Estate as a sales associate. LaRee Lewis joined the residential firm's Bellevue Place office. The Everett office added Kay Swoboda, Suzette Young, James Hansen, Jacqueline Diaz, Don Wilson and Pat Bash-Velasquez. Jean Munday started in Gig Harbor. The Kirkland office hired Dan Tapia, John Velezmoro, Steve Gianelli and Shanda Owen. The Belltown office added Madeline Bindley and Everett Tyler. Caroline Fulton joined the Laurelhurst office. Catherine Smith started in Bellevue Main. Lisa Dunny joined the Bremerton office.
Lynnwood West added Jeng Taing, while Port Orchard hired Patricia McGuire. Sheryl Avery and Alisa McLain began selling in North Bend. Jody Cook and Lisa Luckerath started in Poulsbo. The Olympia/Lacey office hired: Christian Cunningham, Brenda Hartshorn, Robyn Goodwin, Mark Haas, Cheryl Pearce, Randy Rajala, Todd Thompson, Nancy Vincent, Rick Watts and Darla Worden.
Café Pogacha will open in June on the first floor of The Summit office complex in downtown Bellevue. It will be the third Cafe Pagocha in the area; the first two are in Issaquah and Bellevue.

Ciao Bella will reopen on April 3 at its former location at 5133 25th Ave. N.E., which was damaged in a fire last fall. The restaurant, owned by Gino Borriello, is located just north of University Village in Seattle.
