Melissa Evans joined Lorig Associates as assistant project manager. Evans starts out working on Salishan, a 150-acre public housing redevelopment in collaboration with the Tacoma Housing Authority. Evans holds a master's degree in urban planning with an architectural design certification from the University of Washington. Prior to joining the Lorig team, she ran a yacht charter business.

Greg Wendelken, regional manager in charge of Marcus & Millichap's Seattle-area office since 1998, was given the additional title of vice president. President and CEO Harvey Green said Wendelken has turned the Seattle-area office into a strong one. Wendelken joined the brokerage in 1984 as an apartment and retail sales associate in Newport Beach, Calif. He rose to running the Ontario, Calif., office before he moved here in 1998 to manage the Seattle-area office in Bellevue. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Southern California.

Windermere

Heiki-Lara Nyce joined Windermere Real Estate's Sand Point office as a sales associate. Nyce was previously a social worker with the University of Washington Medical Center.

Hendricks & Partners

The 40-unit Emerald Heights apartments at 1201 30th St. S.E. in Auburn sold for $2 million. WPG II LLC of Puyallup sold to Emerald Heights Apartments LLC. Hendricks & Partners broker Tim Ufkes arranged the deal.

J. Lennox Scott received a President's Award from the Washington Association of Realtors. The honor isn't annual, but rather is given at the discretion of the association's president to honor community service, professionalism, innovation and service to the association. Scott is the third-generation head of the Seattle residential agency John L. Scott Real Estate. "There have been few individuals whose contributions to the community and the industry have been so profound as to warrant the rare and special recognition of the Presidents Award," said Steve Francks, association executive vice president.

HomeStreet Capital

Seattle-based HomeStreet Capital signed Cornerstone Realty Finance in San Diego as its multi-family correspondent there. The move expands HomeStreet's Fannie Mae delegated underwriting and servicing, known as DUS lending, into San Diego. Commercial mortgage brokers G. Andrew Graham III and Jonathan K. Cavan formed Cornerstone in April 2002.

June retail seminar postponed

The 15th annual Washington Retail Seminar that was scheduled for Tuesday, June 10, at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center has been postponed to mid-September.
