Downtown revitalization training

The state's 16th Annual Downtown Revitalization Training Institute will be held in Port Townsend on May 8 through 10. New York Times writer Timothy Egan will provide the opening address, talking about what seems to work and not work as downtowns look at their pasts for ideas on how to build their futures. Foster Pepper real estate update

Foster Pepper & Schefelman's annual update on real estate and land use law is scheduled for Thursday, April 4, from 1 to 5 p.m., in the firm's offices at 1111 Third Ave. in downtown Seattle. Northwest Suites

Corporate housing provider Northwest Suites said Microsoft inked a deal that makes Northwest the software company's sole provider of temporary corporate housing nationally for the next three years. Northwest's other clients include Immunex, Amazon.com and Washington Mutual.

Staubach Co.

Retail brokers Rolland Jones and John Dunton put together another local lease for Staples. The office supplier took 23,880 square feet in Westwood Town Center at 2501 S.W. Trenton St.

Paragon Real Estate Advisors

Brokers from Paragon Real Estate Advisors closed the sales of four smaller Seattle apartment complexes. David Petersen represented Gary and Steve Elliot in selling a fourplex at 5628 Delridge Way Southwest for $225,000 to Nam Suk Nasatka. Peterson also represented Nasatka, who bought as part of a tax-deferred exchange.

Broker Cathy Jeney represented the Estate of Marie Moss in selling a six-unit structure in Fremont at 4310 Dayton Ave. N. to Dayton Court III LLC for $625,000. Eric Smith represented Dayton Court III. He said the structure "will undergo extensive renovations and will be repositioned as a modern-style building."

Petersen and Jeney represented James and Barbara Held in selling the nine-unit West Aires apartments in West Seattle at 6001 California Ave. S.W. for $807,500 to Von Brust Kern. Paragon's Ed Hewson represented the buyer.

Jeney and Petersen represented Lance Johnson in selling the nine-unit Roanoke Court Apartments at Eastlake Avenue East and East Roanoke Street for $1.25 million. Roanoke Court was built in 1927.

Sweet Addition

Sweet Addition of Issaquah's Gilman Village opened a second location in the new Issaquah Highlands community. Linda Kowalsky is the owner and Teaguen Kayne Parks is chef. Issaquah Highlands is a planned 2,223-acre community created by Port Blakely Communities. Over the projected 12-year building phase, it will consist of retail and commercial space, with 3,250 residences. Sweet Addition is the first restaurant to open in the community.
