Larry Benaroya and Marvin Stein were inducted into the NAIOP Hall of Fame, and Tim Farrell and Larry Springer were recognized as Public Officials of the Year. Public Project honors went to Garfield High School for its recent renovation.
Seattle-based Tarragon has secured four long-term lease agreements totaling 20,000 square feet at Sunrise Village shopping center in Pierce County. Tarragon says it now has nearly 80 percent of its leasable space committed at Sunrise Village. New tenants include Party City, H&R Block, Kaiten Sushi and State Farm.
The Institute of Real Estate Management recently gave its 2009 awards to real estate managers and organizations. Lorig Management Services was awarded the Accredited Management Organization of the Year. The Certified Property Manager Candidate of the Year award went to Michelle Crabtree of Legacy Commercial. The Accredited Residential Manager of the Year went to Ingrid Adams of the Madison Group and the IREM Professional Partner of the Year went to Perfect Surface of Washington. The 2010 IREM Executive Committee was sworn in. They include Barry Blanton, president; Nicolette Anderson, president-elect; and Faye Crow, immediate past president.

Coast|Sperry Van Ness said Brett Carlton and Josh Heyum recently coordinated sale of the Claremont Medical Building in Everett to Sea Mar Community Health Center. The Jansen Multifamily Team arranged sale of the Peace Arch Secure Storage in Custer to an out-of-state buyer. The Jansen Multifamily Team includes Josh Jansen, Todd Thompson and Matt Wilson.
Opus NWR Development said the Washington state chapter of NAIOP named Fifteen Twenty-One Second Avenue the Multi-Family High-Rise of the Year. NAIOP held its annual Night of the Stars awards ceremony Nov. 6. The high-rise condo project is near Pike Place Market. Opus said units average 1,912 square feet and are selling at an average price of $1.88 million.
Commercial Brokers Association will hold its Commercial Real Estate Insights event Dec. 10 from 7 to 9 a.m. in the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Seattle. Affiliates of USAA Real Estate Co. said they have acquired partial interest in the Regency Retail Portfolio, which consists of eight grocery-anchored centers comprising 813,193 square feet. Transaction details have not been disclosed. The portfolio includes properties in major markets across the country. Top lessees include Kroger, Safeway and Longs Drugs.
A seminar on “Real Estate Mortgage Market Litigation” will be held Feb. 11, 2010, at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel.
