A10 Capital

The Boise-based commercial real estate financing company A10 Capital hired Kyle Knox to oversee Northwest markets. Knox said the Seattle/Bellevue market is one of the country's strongest. Knox's office will be in Seattle. He will pursue new business in the Northwest and Arizona markets, including value-add/mini-perm loans, note purchase loans, mezzanine loans, joint venture equity investments and consulting. He has originated, underwritten, structured and financed more than $3 billion of commercial real estate at Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse and New York Life. More recently, he was with Beal Bank focusing on note and bank acquisitions.

Kidder Mathews

Andy Noble joined Kidder Mathews' Bellevue valuation advisory division as an appraiser and consultant. He was an appraiser with Integra Realty Resources and FirstService PGP Valuation. Stan Sidor, vice president of Valuation Advisory Services for Kidder Mathews, earned the Member, Appraisal Institute designation.

Wallace Properties

Wallace Properties of Bellevue acquired Cascade Commercial Properties, a boutique brokerage firm. Cascade CEO Scott Blankenship is president of Wallace's brokerage group. Six Cascade brokers joined Wallace.

Washington Association of Realtors

Phil Harlan of Olympia is president of the Washington Association of Realtors. He has been in the business since 1994, and is an owner and partner of Keller Williams Realty in Olympia. He was president of the Thurston County Association of Realtors and has been named the group's Realtor of the Year.

Keller Williams Realty

TJ Dunbaden, a real estate broker in Seattle, joined Keller Williams Realty's Seattle Metro West Market Center in West Seattle. He previously worked as a mortgage banker/broker and art dealer.

Portland State University

Portland State's School of Business Administration is offering a new master's degree in real estate development. The university says it's one of two in the Northwest to offer the degree. The first class begins this fall. Applications are due March 1.

The Appraisal Institute

The Appraisal Institute launched a program to educate appraisers about valuing high-performance housing and commercial buildings. In a news release, institute President Joseph C. Magdziarz said high-performance buildings are a rapidly growing area of real estate. Reliable valuations are critical for banks' risk management and developers' business. CREW: We're all in this together

The Feb. 10 Commercial Real Estate Women's lunch program “We're All in this Together” will feature a panel of economic development officials from the central Puget Sound region. Panelists are Jeff Marcell of enterpriseSeattle, Bruce Kendall of the Economic Development Council of Tacoma and Pierce County, and Deborah Knutson, former CEO of the Snohomish County Economic Development Council. ULI: Public/private partnerships

The Seattle District Council of the Urban Land Institute will hold a program in Bothell about public-private partnerships at 8 a.m. Feb. 9. Daniel Friedman, dean of the University of Washington's College of Built Environments, is the moderator. Panelists are developer Ron Sher of Sher Partners of Seattle, Bothell City Manager Bob Stowe and John Finke of the National Development Council in Seattle.
