The building design is two levels with a daylight basement on the east end. It has an L-shaped plan with most of the Engineering space housed in the north/south wing and the Life Sciences space in the east/west wing. The office areas are located in the corner between the two departments for faculty access. The Engineering space will serve programs such as computer-aided manufacturing, machine shops, processing shops, computer-aided drafting and computer science. The Life Sciences space will include teaching labs such as earth sciences and molecular/micro physiology, plant and animal physiology, geophysics, mineralogy and sedimentology. It will also will have a teaching greenhouse. |
