The front desk is the front line of your office. It is an operations center.
In order to operate efficiently at the front, the receptionist needs information. Who is stationed where on any given day? How can they be reached? When will they become available? Who works with which client? Who is in charge of which project? Who is responsible for a special assignment? How do we handle employment requests? Who needs to be contacted if the media calls and the president is out? What if an angry client calls and the manager is out? Receptionists should be fully integrated team members and not mere message takers.
