Virgil Sweeney and Terry Yeager became loan officers at Versata, a Lacey-based mortgage broker for the South Sound region. Sweeney is a certified governmental financial planner who previously worked for 10 years in budget management for the state. Five of those years were with the Attorney General's Office, which recognized him for his outstanding effort during the tobacco litigation case. Sweeney holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Western Washington University and is a basketball coach for Tumwater Middle School. Yeager founded and owned Northwest Consultants, a new home design and project management firm, prior to joining Versata.

Robert Bourdages has been promoted to senior vice president of Poggemeyer Design Group. Bourdages, who has 24 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, manages the Northwest division of Poggemeyer. He is also president and as legislative committee chair of the Structural Engineers Association of Washington.
Matthew Schmitter has been promoted to vice president. An expert in wood structures, Schmitter has engineered 25 Marriott hotels throughout the West and Northwest, as well as several large-scale housing development plans. He is currently designing an 18-story residential high-rise located near a fault line in downtown San Diego.

Dan Booth, Duane Dietz and Richard Hartlage were recently promoted to associate principals at AHBL.
Booth is a registered structural and civil engineer with 15 years experience with AHBL. He is currently serving as lead structural engineer on the Kitsap County Administration Building in Port Orchard and the Little Creek Hotel in Shelton.
Dietz is a registered landscape architect with 15 years experience. He leads the specialized landscape architecture division, DietzHartlage, and specializes in zoo exhibits, parks/trails, and interpretive planning and design.
Hartlage is a horticulturist with 12 years experience in public garden management. He has worked with AHBL on botanical garden projects on a national basis and is the former curator of Seattle's Elisabeth C. Miller Botanical Gardens.
Kathleen Cassou recently joined Parametrix as land survey manager in the Olympia office. Cassou has 25 years of experience in support and management of multi-disciplined survey operations throughout the state. Cassou’s responsibilities will include project execution, overseeing corporate survey teams, equipment and technology management, and expanding both internal and external markets. Her experience includes boundary, topographic and construction survey support for site development, transportation engineering design and master planning.
Eve Carlson has joined the staff of Northwest Architectural Co. of Seattle as an interior designer for corporate, educational, health care and senior assisted-living projects.
Carlson, who is certified by the International Interior Design Association, most recently served as principal of E.C. Designs in Edmonds. Prior to that, she held senior interior design positions at architectural and interior design firms in Everett, Bellevue and Tacoma.
Carlson's expertise includes interior design, master interior space planning, furniture design and specifications, standardization programming, contract document production, and project management. Her portfolio includes the Eddie Bauer World Headquarters in Redmond, the Natural Gas Company corporate office in Seattle, Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee and the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.
