Mama Stortini's Ristorante is opening at 3207 E. Main Ave. in Puyallup. It has 160 employees including catering staff and the restaurant caters for small venues around King, Pierce and Thurston counties. The renovation's project team included: Helix Architecture & Design, Fife; Merit Co. General Contractor, Tacoma; Tacoma Plumbing and Heating, Tacoma; Sullivan Painting Service, Lakewood; Bargreen-Ellingson, Tacoma; and Culbertson Sign Service, Tacoma.

KPFF Consulting Engineers named Izzat Hasayen principal. Hasayen has 17 years of experience as a structural engineer and has designed hundreds of bridges around the country. Recent work includes bridge structure designs for Sound Transit and WSDOT's Bellevue Downtown Access project as well as bridge and seismic upgrade designs for King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. KPFF Consulting Engineers has 600 employees in 12 offices around the country.
ECS Engineering added Richard Hensel and Chris Cote to its staff. Hensel has nine years of experience in energy management, electrical and controls engineering. He will work on water treatment plants and a sub station project for Boeing. Cote is a controls and instrumentation engineer and will work on Cedar Hills Landfill. Traci La Bree was promoted to marketing coordinator. ECS is a 20-person electrical and control systems engineering company with offices in Bothell and Wenatchee.
Thomas Collins is a senior utilities engineer at Perteet Engineering in Everett. He will work on plans, specifications and cost estimates for utilities and site development projects. Loren Sand is senior associate and manager of public works with 33 years of experience with city and county governments. Perteet is a civil and transportation engineering consulting firm with offices in Everett, Lakewood, Snoqualmie and Portland.
Eric LaBrie joined ESM Consulting Engineers as director of land planning. LaBrie will manage planning and landscape architecture staff. His expertise is in entitlements, commercial and industrial projects. ESM has offices in Federal Way, Bothell and Cle Elum. The company offers civil engineering, survey, land planning and GIS services.
Kamela Potratz was promoted to associate. Her assignments include the Moran Prairie Branch Library, Telco Credit Union Headquarters, Three Rivers Convention Center and Paschal Sherman Indian School. She joined the company in 1994.
Tacoma-based BLRB Architects promoted four. New associates are Jim Elder, Ron Harpel, Bob Lindstrom and Mike Reynolds. Elder leads computer-aided drafting and production and is working on renovation of Seattle's historic Garfield High School. Harpel is a project architect and manager with a background in educational architecture and he is designing addition and modernization of Reeves Middle School for the Olympia school district.
Lindstrom is project architect for Highline school district's new Mount Rainier High School and renovation of South Bay Elementary School for the North Thurston school district. Reynolds is project manager for the Garfield High School historic renovation and addition for Seattle school district. BLRB Architects provides design services to public and private schools.

Jeffrey Thomas works on capital project permitting and environmental review. Justin Rygel is experienced in structural analysis of beams and trusses. Michael Beintum has structural engineering experience with building and waterfront facilities projects.
Berger/Abam consults on project management, civil and structural engineering. Its other offices are in Seattle, Portland and Las Vegas.
Tres West Engineers promoted Larry Elliott to junior partner. Mechanical engineer Steve Fintak was promoted to associate.
Elliott is working on electrical engineering for Mount Rainier High School in Des Moines and Roosevelt High School in Seattle.
Fintak is working on renovations for Evergreen State College Library and Capital High School in Olympia.
Tres West is a mechanical and electrical engineering consulting firm based in Tacoma.
Hough Beck & Baird promoted Fred Beck, a founding partner, to senior vice president. He oversees design, quality control and marketing. Juliet Vong was promoted to vice president. Dean W. Koonts was promoted to associate and is working on planning projects in Kenmore and Pasco.
Firm principal and project manager Colie Hough-Beck is working with the port of Everett and on planning projects in Washington and Idaho. Senior associate Jim Howard works on transportation projects for King County and on a sustainable campus master planning for Lake Washington Technical College.
