Peabody's current projects include Harborview Medical Center IEB Building and Loma Linda University Community Medical Center. Spangenberg was a user support analyst for MultiCare Health System in Tacoma. Sparling is a Seattle-based electrical engineering and technology consulting firm.

The Rice Group added Frank Snow and Mark Gemeinhardt. Snow is a mechanical designer and was with Affiliated Engineers of Seattle. Gemeinhardt is an engineer and was with Westgate Mechanical in Edmonds. The Rice Group is a mechanical consulting firm based in the Edmonds/Lynnwood area. The company engineers mechanical and plumbing designs for commercial buildings, does building commissioning and offers energy conservation services.

Seattle-based Notkin Mechanical Engineers promoted Paul Johnson and Scott Ellis to project managers. Johnson worked on a downtown high-rise hotel and condominium project. Ellis worked on Harborview and Evergreen Hospital Medical Centers.

TEI, a mechanical and electrical consulting firm, promoted Douglass L. Scott to assistant head of its mechanical department head. Scott has been with TEI for 12 years. The Renton-based company also appointed Hardy Widjaja principal. Widjaja is assistant head of the electrical department.

Magnusson Klemencic Associates

Seattle structural and civil engineering firm Magnusson Klemencic Associates announced this year's promotions. Matt Corsi is a prinicipal. Senior associates are Andy Fry, Owen Kohashi and Brook Jacksha. Associates are Steve Haluschak, Scott Erickson, Brad Cameron and Tom Rines.

Brown and Caldwell

Environmental planning, design and construction management firm Brown and Caldwell has added new staff. In the company's water resources group are Nathan Foged and Colleen Doten. Foged is a civil and water resources engineer with experience in hydrodynamic and water quality modeling. Doten is a civil engineer with experience in site improvement, soil and groundwater cleanup, and prechlorination design work for odor control. The company added to its infrastructure/civil group Bruce Kessler, Corinne DeLeon and Joel Paulson. Kessler is a principal civil engineer with 13 years of experience on municipal public work projects like wastewater pump stations and stormwater facilities. De Leon is a civil engineer with experience on water and wastewater infrastructure projects and stormwater discharge. Paulson is a senior civil engineer and will work in the company's Kingston office. Don Wentz joined as a principal instrumentation and controls engineer, and has 15 years of experience in controls engineering. Ed Dix is the company's new operations specialist and will be based out of the Olympia office. Bill Reiswig is a new illustrator and graphics designer.

Walker Macy

The Portland firm Walker Macy added Seattle landscape designer Christopher Stephen Jones. Jones has worked on Olympic Sculpture Park and the Anchorage Museum of History & Art. Walker Macy specializes in site planning and design for public parks, higher education campuses and urban streetscapes.

Crowley Maritime

Joe Rella joined Oakland, Calif.-based Crowley Maritime Corp. as director of business development. Rella will work out of Houston and focus on the liquefied natural gas industry, a new area for Crowley. Rella was a port engineer contracted to the U.S. Navy and a director of sales and marketing for Atlantic Marine. Crowley officials say LNG accounts for only about 1 percent of natural gas used in the United States, but they expect it to grow. Crowley owns and operates ship assist and escort tug boats, and offers other maritime services in Seattle and Tacoma.
