DBM Contractors

Federal Way-based DBM Contractors hired Rick Walsh and Forest Badeaux for its new regional office in Vista, Calif. Walsh, P.E., G.E., is in charge of project/product development and Badeaux is managing the office and equipment yard as well as overall operations. Walsh has over 13 years of experience and holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from San Diego State University. Badeaux began in construction over 20 years ago as a drill rig operator and worked his way up to vice president of operations for a Southwest foundation construction company. DBM's Southwest region covers Southern California, Nevada and Arizona.

Sequoyah Electric

Dave Hill, Shannon Robinson, Bill Green and Paula Murphy joined Redmond-based Sequoyah Electric. Hill is working in the Lighting & Energy Conservation Department as a project manager. He has more than 17 years of experience in project management and engineering for lighting retrofit and conservation programs. Robinson is a project manager in Special Projects. He has worked in the industry for over 13 years. Green is an account manager for Sequoyah's DIS projects. He has 30 years of data and communications experience. Murphy is an account administrator for Sequoyah Network Services. She has over eight years of industry experience.

Atkinson Construction

The Renton office of Atkinson Construction promoted Charles McCoy to vice president. McCoy has been with the company since 1974 and in the local office since 1992. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from California State University, and is a registered professional engineer in Washington, California and Florida.

Karleen Belmont joined PACE as business development director. Belmont has 25 years of business development experience. She is a fellow of the Society of Marketing Professional Services and serves on the board of directors for the SMPS Oregon chapter.

Sparling recently hired David Smith as a project designer and Patti Lennartson as a project accounting specialist. Lennartson has 15 years of accounting experience, most recently at West Farm Foods. Prior to that, she provided accounting support for the wireless communications industry including Western Wireless and AT&T Wireless Services. Smith joined the electrical design studio that specializes in health care, hospitality and retail projects. His current Sparling projects include Timber Ridge at Talus, Skyline at First Hill and Island Hospital in Anacortes.

Terry Brunner has joined multi-disciplinary consulting firm Shockey/Brent of Everett as a senior planner. Brunner has 30 years of expertise in land use planning, with knowledge in local regulations and procedures, as well as agency coordination. He has spent more than 20 years in county government and several years in private consulting.

As lead interior designer, his recent projects have included the WaMu Center in Seattle, The Westin Hotel at Denver International Airport, Yanlord Plaza in Chengdu, China and Kaiser Permanente, Oakland, Calif.

R.C.T. Engineering announced the addition of Cos Roberts as vice president and regional manager of the Seattle office.

Otak

Otak's Seattle office added Robert McClendon, an architect with experience in retail and hospitality. McClendon worked on the New Town Downtown, a $200 million revitalization of Tacoma's core and refurbishment of the Four Seasons Olympic Hotel in Seattle. McClendon has also worked on the Boeing Museum of Flight in Seattle, Stuttgart Center Museum in Germany and the Pompidou Place Museum in France. Otak's Lake Oswego headquarters added landscape intern Benjamin Roth, civil designer Karla Zenz and architecture intern Guy de Lijster. Roth's landscape design experience spans public and private projects, from a memorial garden at Oregon State University to a planned-unit development in Red Lodge, Mont. Zenz, formerly an intern with Otak's Development Services group, has worked with the Portland Office of Transportation on a new school-zone signage system and is a recent graduate from the University of Portland. De Lijster, joined the arhitecture group with experience designing commercial and residential structures in The Netherlands and Spain. The firm also added three employees in Abu Dhabi. Zouheir Farah, a senior project manager, has 22 years of experience and helped design 17 American interstates. Vijaykumar Valavppil, an engineer for 19 years, specializes in computer-aided design and has more than a decade of experience working in the Persian Gulf region. Padmavathi Vinnakota will be responsible for various office and administrative duties.
