ORB Architects

Michael Saito has joined ORB Architects as a project manager. Saito has worked on public and private projects, including educational, community and public safety facilities, medical and housing.

LMN Architects

LMN Architects made seven promotions. Marcus Lintault was promoted to principal, and Julie Adams, Jeffrey Bailey, Chris Baxter, Stephanie Ginger, Chad Kunz and Darby Watson, were promoted to associate. Lintault helped implement building information modeling software at LMN, as the next generation of computer aided design. Adams is working on the Alaska Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage. Bailey is helping create a new vision for the Washington State Ferries at Colman Dock. Baxter's projects have included the Vancouver, B.C. Convention Centre expansion, the Seattle library and the School of Music at the University of California, San Diego. Ginger helps with proposal development, interview preparation, business development strategizing and the Web site. Kunz has led efforts to automate processes and has eliminated the need for specialized outside information technology consultants. Watson's projects are redevelopment for the port and city of Bellingham and Mercer corridor in Seattle.

Thomas Cook Fitzgerald Architecture

Thomas Cook Fitzgerald Architecture of Tacoma added architects Tracy von Trotha and James Choate-Deeds, and intern architects Brian Ho, Chrisy Wachtler, Dan Pipgra and James Mill. Choate-Deeds has experience in sustainable design. Von Trotha and Pipgra are working on a combined maintenance facility for Pierce County. Mill is working on the Cedarhurst Elementary School replacement for Highline School District. Ho is working on Puyallup's Pioneer Park Condominium & Activity Center, and Wachtler is working on a renovation for Building 2 at Camp Murray and a roads maintenance shop at Rhodes Lake for Pierce County.

Weber + Thompson

Weber + Thompson recently added six employees. Brad Barndt joined Weber + Thompson's construction administration team to work on condo projects in Seattle. Mark Burgess, a senior technical architect and construction administrator, is working on condo projects in South Lake Union, Ballard and Kirkland. Mathew Su'euga is an intern architect working on single- and multi-family housing in the Northwest. Kris Lee is a job captain and designer working on high-rise and mixed-use teams in Seattle. Donald McLaughlin earned his masters of architecture from the University of Washington and previously worked for a firm in New York City before joining Weber as a design architect. He is currently working on high-rise projects in Seattle. Brian Geller, an intern architect, is working on two high-rise residential towers in Seattle.

HWA GeoSciences

HWA GeoSciences added Tewodros Ayele Taddese, an engineering geologist, and Vance Atkins, a hydrogeologist. Taddese is working with WSDOT to interpret the geologic conditions on the state Route 518 project, as well as investigating landslides in the Puget Sound region. Atkins is working on environmental projects for Seattle City Light and environmental site assessments for residential and commercial clients.

Jones & Jones Architects & Landscape Architects

Jones & Jones Architects and Landscape Architects promoted Christopher L. Overdorf as principal. Overdorf will focus on growing the firm's geographic information systems services and zoological work. He is working on new planning and design projects at the Jacksonville Zoo, San Antonio Zoo, Bergen County Zoo, Sequoia Park Zoo and Seoul Grand Park Zoo.

DCI Engineers

DCI Engineers announced the promotions of Wade Younie to principal in the Portland office and Damon Smith to principal in the Spokane office. Younie joined DCI Engineers in 2004, with experience in commercial, institutional and industrial projects, seismic retrofit and historic building preservation. Smith joined DCI Engineers in 2000 and has experience in commercial, subdivision and road design.

Northwest Architectural Company has expanded its executive team by appointing Thomas J. Stroeher chief financial officer. Stroeher most recently worked for MDC Holdings, a Denver-based homebuilder. Stroeher fills a new position that focuses on the strategic direction, operation and management of the firm's financial resources.

She managed large projects at WATG, including Disneyland Resorts in Tokyo and Hong Kong, the Four Seasons Aviara Resort Club in San Diego and the Spa Resort Casino in Palm Springs.

Four people have joined Hart Crowser's Seattle office. Environmental engineer Steven Hoffman will work on regulatory compliance and remediation for industrial and government clients. Roy Jensen is a hydrogeologist who has worked on projects for the Boeing, Paccar, Kaiser, and Washington State Department of Transportation. Patricia Reed and Chris Brown are field geologists. Reed has 12 years of experience in geotechnical, environmental and groundwater supply projects in both Washington and Oregon. Brown is a recent graduate of Western Washington University.

Weber + Thompson recently added seven to its staff. Architect and current AIA Washington President Peter David Greaves joined as an associate and lead designer of mid-rise projects, overseeing several complex mixed-use projects and their teams. He previously managed commercial projects, such as the Alexander Lighting Showroom and corporate headquarters for North Coast Electric and Olympic Associates' new office, as well as multi-family housing projects like Magnolia Triangle and the Cedar Heights townhomes. Interior designer Ann Wolf joins the interiors group to work on several private residences in a condominium/hotel project in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood. Myer Harrell is an intern architect who will work on a large mixed-use wine village in Woodinville. Patricia Hahler is a project manager working in construction administration on a hotel/condominium project in downtown Seattle. Sabina Fiore is a job captain working on several mixed-used projects. Stephanie Brown is a job captain working on a master-planned community in Edmonds. Maggie Santolla is marketing coordinator, supporting press relations, marketing and communications.
