Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership added three employees to the Seattle office: Rick Ullman, Konrad Hee and Liz Pisciotta. Ullman is a project manager and medical planner. In his new role at ZGF, he will be leading the planning and design of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance expansion on the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center campus. After working as an architectural consultant and cost estimator for more than 15 years, Hee joined ZGF as a specification writer. He previously worked at the Robinson Company in Seattle as a cost estimator and researcher. Pisciotta has joined ZGF for one year as an intern through the University of Cincinnati's masters of architecture program.
Parametrix recently hired Jim Hurst in the Lacey office. Hurst was hired as the new division manager for the land development group and is responsible for managing staff on projects, coordinating with other programs and business lines, and marketing to expand the land development program's client base. Hurst is working on the Briggs Village West project in Olympia, Martin Way retail project in Lacey, Federal Way Puerto Vallarta and commercial retail projects in Yelm.
J. Paul Smith has joined Berger/ABAM Engineers Federal Way office. Smith's area of expertise is the behavior of reinforced concrete structures, earthquake engineering and soil-structure interaction. Robert Hoxie has also joined the Federal Way office. Hoxie has civil and structural engineering experience with building and transportation projects.
TVA Architects recently hired Stefee Knudsen as an architect, Bonnie Shields as an accounting technician and Melissa Mitchell as marketing director. Knudsen will work on the design of retailer Chico's corporate world headquarters in Florida, and the new 12,500 seat University of Oregon Basketball Arena slated to replace McArthur Court. Shields worked for the city of Milwaukie, Ore. for 14 years, where she specialized in payroll and accounts payable. Mitchell worked in film and television development at Will Vinton Studios.
Cynthia Jacobs of Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo has been elected to the firm's board of directors. Jacobs joined WATG in 1989. She has managed several projects at WATG, including Disneyland Resorts in Tokyo and Hong Kong, Four Seasons Aviara Resort Club in Carlsbad, Calif., and the Spa Resort Casino in Palm Springs, Calif. The other members of the board are Mike Chun, Greg Coghill, Robert Day, Larry Rocha and Kevin Scholl.
Engineering design firm PCSI Design of Everett has added Mark A. Stokes as a design developer and project manager. Stokes has experience in engineering design, drafting, production line management and test conductor management.
Hargis Engineers has promoted Scott Miller to associate. Miller is a mechanical engineer and team leader for high-end retail projects. He has worked on Nordstrom stores nationwide, including Northpark Center, La Cantera, Topanga and the South Coast Plaza remodel.
White Shield added John Butts as vice president of Bellevue operations. Butts will assist with the firm's strategic and business planning process and be responsible for financial planning, project budgeting and control, as well as business development and general consulting. White Shield is a Native American-owned land surveying and environmental consulting firm serving the Pacific Northwest.
