In Seattle, Mahlum Architects promoted Corrie Rosen to partner. She joins the other partners in leading the firm. Rosen honed her architectural skills at A+I and Maya Lin Studio in New York City. She joined Mahlum in 2007 and has focused much of her efforts in promoting social justice and equity in its work. Rosen introduced and has led Mahlum's Pro Bono and Commitment to Community programs. Projects she has worked on include Nathan Hale High School modernization in Seattle, Arlington Elementary School in Tacoma and Madrona School in Edmonds. In her new role, she will continue to focus on culture and community and share the important role of architecture and its ability to impact positive change.



In Seattle, structural and civil engineering firm Magnusson Klemencic Associates promoted Mike Jewsbury and Sean Clifton to senior principal and Russell Larsen to principal. Jewsbury is design leader of MKA's healthcare specialist group. His portfolio includes stand-alone hospitals, new patient towers on existing campuses, and seismic retrofits of fully occupied, Level 2 trauma centers and other essential facilities. He was hired in 2000 and his projects have included University of Washington Medicine Lake Union, Phases 2, 3.1 and 3.2, in Seattle; Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Hospital in Columbus, and BC Children's Hospital TECK Acute Care Centre in Vancouver, B.C. Clifton's work includes residential towers and large, mixed-use developments that involve multiple building typologies and construction materials. He was hired in 2008 and his projects have included the JW Marriott Charlotte Hotel in Charlotte, N.C.; Bank of Philippine Islands Headquarters in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines, and Marriott Marquis at McCormick Place in Chicago. Larsen has designed office and housing projects in the U.S., often in high seismicity regions. As a task force member of the Applied Technology Council 58 project, he is helping to develop guidelines for seismic performance assessment of buildings and Performance-Based Seismic Design. An MKA employee since 2003, his projects have included Salesforce Tower in San Francisco; River Point Tower in Chicago; and SkyRise Miami in Miami.



AHBL promoted civil engineers Bill Fierst, David Nason and Erick Fitzpatrick to principal. Fierst's 20-year civil engineering career at AHBL has allowed him to contribute to a variety of education, federal, healthcare and commercial projects. Nason has a deep resume of educational facility design. He spent the past 13 years of his 22-year career as a civil project manager in the Tacoma office. Fitzpatrick joined AHBL in 2012. He has 14 years of experience and oversees civil engineering in the firm's offices in Spokane and the Tri-Cities. He is based in Spokane. Fierst and Nason are based in Tacoma.


DCI Engineers, a civil and structural engineering firm, promoted TJ Hamad to project manager and Julie Reed to payroll manager in Seattle. At DCI, Hamad has supported multifamily residential, podium and multi-level warehouse projects in Washington, California and Illinois. Since joining DCI, Reed's responsibilities have evolved to maintaining ADP payroll information and tax calculations for staff in all 13 offices. She is an advocate of the firm's benefit package and collaborates with the accounting firm responsible for annual 401(k) reviews.


In Seattle, FSi Engineers promoted Andy Langdon to senior associate and hired Arthur Stokes as a senior associate to lead its electrical group. Langdon has worked at FSi since 2010 and has 15 years of experience. He leads design of HVAC, plumbing and process piping for institutional clients including The Boeing Co., Port of Seattle and Seattle City Light. He is working on the new Mountlake Terrace City Hall. Stokes has 31 years of engineering experience with a focus on industrial, power, water, wastewater and manufacturing facilities. He has experience in development of electrical, instrumentation, SCADA/PLC controls and cyber security, and has led electrical engineering for projects in Washington. He is leading electrical engineering for the Together Center in Redmond and FSi's new office at Pier 54 in Seattle, targeting ILFI Core certification. FSi is an MEP firm, with offices also in Spokane and Baltimore.

Gensler, a global architecture and design firm, promoted Kristin Jensen to principal. Jensen is also co-managing director of the Seattle office and has over 20 years of experience managing commercial real estate and development projects in the Northwest, including suburban office parks, master planned communities, hotels, urban infill office and mixed-use. As principal, she will use her background to work with clients on projects.



Seattle-based SABArchitects promoted Kate Vincent, Laura Taylor and Shaun Danielson to associate principal. They are the first people to hold that role at the firm, reflecting a period of strong growth. Vincent has spent her 16-year architectural career in Seattle, working on a variety of project types, and most recently leading large-scale workplace projects at SABA. Taylor has 16 years in the industry and experience that spans a spectrum of project types. Danielson has 10 years of technically informed design sense and has worked on large and small projects across all of the firm's market sectors. SABArchitects has 45 staff members.

Allana Buick & Bers hired Marc Choiniere as a building technologist in Seattle. Choiniere has over 12 years of experience in building materials sales specializing in using software such as WUFI Passive, Therm and Sketch-Up. His notable projects include Paine Field, the University of Texas Arlington Science and Engineering Innovation and Research Building and the University of Chicago North Dining and Residence Hall.







In Seattle, Hart Crowser hired Lauren Phillips and Evan Capron as geotechnical engineers and Bret Buskirk and Curtis Smerdon as geologists. In Portland, it hired Ryan Lewis is an environmental engineer, and in Honolulu it hired Dennis Peters as a registered environmental manager and Michael Figueroa as a chemical engineer. Phillips has worked on high speed rail in California and a convention center expansion in Las Vegas, and done computer modeling to see the effect an earthquake might have on a liquid natural gas facility in the Adriatic Sea. She is working on projects for the Washington State Department of Transportation and the County of Hawaii. Capron has a geotechnical master of engineering degree from Utah State University. He interned with Hart Crowser and has returned as a full-time employee working on projects for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, WSDOT and the U.S. Navy. Buskirk holds a master of science in earth and space sciences from the University of Washington and was recently a physical science technician with Badlands National Park. She will work on life sciences building development projects. Smerdon is working on landslide repair projects. He has completed projects for the Oregon Department of Transportation, the ports of Portland and Vancouver, Legacy Health, Intel, Weyerhaeuser, Portland State University, University of Portland, University of Oregon, Portland Public Schools and the cities of Portland, Vancouver and Roseburg.
Lewis has five years of experience that includes environmental services related to stormwater, water quality and mining sites. He is supporting environmental investigation and cleanup projects under an on-call contract with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. Peters has 29 years of experience with environmental planning, environmental site investigation and cleanup, and solid and hazardous waste management projects in the U.S. and the Pacific Rim. His clients have included the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation, County of Kaua'i, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command and the U.S. Air Force. Figueroa has a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from Stanford University. He is working on projects for the County of Maui and the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation, Airports Division. Hart Crowser, a division of Haley & Aldrich, specializes in geotechnical engineering, environmental science and engineering, stormwater services and resilience engineering.
